Katie Holmes couldn’t contain her happiness as she and ex-boyfriend Joshua Jackson continued to film their upcoming trilogy Happy Hours.

The duo starred as Joey Potter (Katie) and Pacey Witter (Joshua) on Dawson’s Creek more than two decades ago. 

Now, as they headed to the suburbs of New York City on Monday, the former Dawson’s Creek co-stars appeared happier than ever as they reunited once more on set.

Dressed in character, Katie, 46 – who dated Joshua between 1998 and 1999 – wore a red sweetheart tank top with brown trousers.

She added a pair of brown loafers and pulled her brunette tresses into a low up do.

For his part, the Doctor Odyssey star, 47, sported a button-up denim shirt and navy blue trousers.

And taking to the suburbs of New York City on Monday, the former Dawson’s Creek co-stars looked happier than ever as they reunited once again on set

The pair were seen deep in discussion before high-fiving each other on set. 

The pair, known for their roles as Joey Potter (Katie) and Pacey Witter (Joshua) on Dawson’s Creek over two decades ago, thrilled fans on Monday by reuniting in Manhattan to start filming.

This follows Katie expressing her joy about her friendship with Joshua in an Instagram post, saying: ‘I am so very grateful to be working again with so many of my wonderful friends on this film HAPPY HOURS. And working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship.’

The pair portrayed former lovers who cross paths years later and rekindle their romance in the popular American teen soap, which ended in 2003 after six seasons.

They also struck up a romance off-camera, with Katie and Joshua dating during the early years of the show.

Katie told Rolling Stone in 1998: ‘I’m just going to say that I met somebody last year, I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable.

‘I feel so fortunate because he’s now one of my best friends. It’s weird, it’s almost like a Dawson-and-Joey type thing now.’

‘He’s been in the business so long, and he’s really helped me. I respect him as a friend and as a professional.’

It seems the excitement of filming together again hasn’t worn off yet for the stars as they couldn’t stop smiling 

The project marks the first time in over two decades that they are reuniting on screen together

After the pair reunited last week, fans and celebrity friends alike took to Instagram to express their delight.

Busy Philipps — who featured on Dawson’s Creek as Pacey’s girlfriend, Audrey Liddle — showed her excitement for the upcoming film, commenting: ‘We are seated.’

Other fans wrote: ‘Joey and Pacey forever!’

In addition to starring in the movie, Katie also wrote the screenplay and is serving as director.

Mary-Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr., Nathan Darrow, Johnna Dias-Watson and Jack Martin will also appear in the project.
