Katy Perry made a striking return to the spotlight in Bologna, Italy, on Sunday, stepping onto the stage amid recent revelations from her ex, Diplo, about his past relationships with both her and her current partner, Justin Trudeau.

The 41-year-old pop sensation, who recently confirmed her relationship with the former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, during a show in Prague, dazzled audiences with a series of eye-catching outfits during her Lifetimes Tour stop.

Performing at the Unipol Arena, Katy wowed the crowd in a set of glitzy bodysuits paired with matching thigh-high boots, showcasing her stunning figure. One of her ensembles was designed to resemble shimmering animal scales adorned with rhinestones, while another boasted a futuristic, metallic design.

Despite the surprising comments from Diplo, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, who made the claims about dating the couple on the Smart Girl Dumb Questions podcast, Katy appeared unfazed, exuding confidence as she delivered her hit songs with flair.

‘And now Katy Perry is dating Justin,’ Diplo said. ‘Pretty fire,’ he continued.

‘I know so many people who like kind of,’ host Nayeema Raza began before Diplo interjected.

‘Dated Katy Perry, like me?’ Diplo said. ‘I did,’ he elaborated. (The podcast has since clarified he was joking).

‘I meant Trudeau,’ Raza said. I did date Trudeau too,’ he continued. ‘That was a weird one though,’ he added, explaining he found it odd as he’s ‘not into politicians.’

‘I think he’s hot,’ Raza continued, ‘He is kind of hot,’ Diplo agreed. The podcast later clarified Diplo was just joking about dating Trudeau.

‘He dated Trudeau????’ one fan commented on the podcast’s YouTube video. 

‘Lol he’s making a joke,’ the podcast responded. 

The Daily Mail has contacted both Perry’s representatives and Trudeau via Instagram for comment.

While the Justin romance was all a joke, Diplo was indeed linked to Katy back in 2014. 

The duo were spotted out in New York City at the time, but E! News sources were conflicted about the status of their relationship at the time.   

One said they were merely ‘good friends’, but another claimed they were actually more than just that.

‘They get on really well,’ a source told the site. ‘He’s just a fun guy and he makes her happy. They met when they started talking about doing music together, but there was an obvious chemistry there.’

The revelation comes after Katy confirmed her romance with the politician during her show in Prague on Thursday.

The singer was surprised to find a fan holding a sign asking to marry her yet again, and explained she’s no longer available. 

‘This guy is trying to get me to marry him and he has a ring in his hand,’ she told the crowd in a video shared to TikTok by a fan.

‘No! I am dating someone else for crying out f*****g loud,’ she exclaimed.

They recently went public with their budding relationship as they celebrated Katy’s 41st birthday in Paris 

The couple first sparked romance rumours after they were seen dining at the Montreal restaurant Le Violon back in July.

Meanwhile Katy made a subtle Instagram debut with Trudeau when she uploaded a post on Tuesday in celebration of her birthday.

The Dark Horse songstress shared photos and clips as she excitedly rung in turning one year older.

The performer – who officially turned 41 on October 25 – included one clip which showed her blowing out candles to a cake topped with sugary icing.

And as she blew out the candles, Justin was briefly spotted far in the background with a big smile on his face as he cheered on the pop star.
