Kunle Afolayan, a Nollywood actor and filmmaker, has finally broken his silence on social media to confront the oedipal complex love charges against him and his daughter, Eyiyemi.

The filmmaker’s response comes only days after Gistlover reported that a clip of Kunle Afolayan and his first daughter, Eyiyemi, dancing together went viral. Following the video, netizens tagged the dance as improper.

Kunle Afolayan, in an apparent rebuttal to the claims, stated that he is a king who receives special favour from Almighty God.

He also noted in his statement that his critics can only strive, but will never succeed, in their efforts to bring him down.

Kunle Afolayan further stirred emotions online with his closing remark on his social media post, using a line from Phyno and Burna Boy’s song, “Do I”. Sharing a video collage of himself and a photo and him and Eyiyemi, Kunle Afolayan wrote:

“I am a King! I am a child of the most high!

You can only try

Love surpasses everything

Do I look like …”
