On Monday, Lil Nas X was spotted departing a Los Angeles-area courthouse after posting his $75,000 bail. This secured his release from custody following a stay of over three days in jail due to a battery arrest that took place on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Montero (Call Me by Your Name) singer was seen wearing a baby blue jumpsuit that covered him from head to toe as he exited the legal venue in Van Nuys, California, subsequent to his arrest in Studio City, California.

With more than 10.3 million followers on Instagram, Lil Nas X faces several felony charges. If proven guilty, he could face up to five years in state prison for the accusations leveled against him.

According to TMZ on Monday, police apprehended the Atlanta-born artist after observing him strolling naked on Ventura Avenue in Studio City. This led to a confrontation during which officers deployed a Taser to restrain him.

Lil Nas X’s charges include three felony battery counts, including injury on a police officer and resisting an executive officer.

It appears that the Old Town Road artist has a brewing legal battle on his hands.

Nathan J. Hochman, the Los Angeles County District Attorney, pledged to hold the musician accountable for the alleged incident involving a group of police officers around 5:40 a.m. on Thursday.

‘Attacking police officers is more than just a crime against those individuals,’ Hochman said in a statement, ‘but a direct threat to public safety.’

The prosecutor emphasized that the Grammy-winning performer, officially known as Montero Lamar Hill, should not expect any preferential treatment following last week’s altercation in the San Fernando Valley.

‘Anyone who assaults law enforcement will face serious consequences, no matter who they are or how famous they may be,’ Hochman added.
