David and Victoria Beckham are poised to embrace some noteworthy new neighbors, having recently acquired a plot adjacent to their countryside retreat for a significant sum of £16.5 million.

Should Victoria ever find herself in search of a quick tan before stepping out for a glamorous night in Mayfair, she’s in luck.

Moving into the neighborhood are Blair Raymond James, the energetic co-founder of the Australian tanning brand Bondi Sands, and his stylish wife, Melanie Adams.

Victoria might soon join the ranks of celebrities who swear by the brand, a list that boasts names like Kylie Jenner, Olivia Attwood, Charlotte Crosby, and Zara McDermott.

The Beckhams purchased their charming converted barn back in 2016 for £6,150,000 and have dedicated nearly a decade to its renovation.

Nestled in Great Tew, their residence is a mere 12-minute drive from the more widely recognized town of Chipping Norton.

The Beckhams’ country retreat is also close to the exclusive members club Soho Farmhouse, which boasts visitors such as Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Tom Cruise.

New land registry documents show a 15-acre chunk of land, right next to the Beckhams’ own residence, has been sold to Blair and his wife Melanie.

Blair, 46, whose father was British, co-founded Australia’s most-loved tanning brand in 2012 with Shaun Wilson.

Within six months of hitting chemists’ shelves, it made an incredible $10million in sales, with one product now sold every two minutes.

It went on to become one of the world’s top-selling self-tanning brands and was sold for $450million (AUD) in 2023.

Blair is now also the director of Growth Bomb, a cosmetics line that claims to prevent hair loss, which he created during the pandemic with pal Hamish Buckley.

Five years after forming the brand, the company has already sold more than one million products.

Meanwhile, his wife Melanie is an ex-elite pole vaulter turned show jumper, who spends her time in Monaco.

Quotes on its website suggest that Villa Balbiano will set back guests $252,000AUD a week with special packages available just for weddings.

But Blair’s journey to success didn’t come easy for the self-made businessman, as he lost both parents by the age of 23.

‘I had a challenging upbringing… I look back at that time as a real turning point in my life,’ Blair told the Daily Mail in 2021.

After his family moved to the UK in 1986, his British-born dad decided to set up shop selling imported Australian products in Birmingham.

The family moved back to Australia after their life in the UK became extremely ‘tough financially’.

‘After returning, we lost the family home. My dad struggled to find work and my mum had to return to work just to make ends meet,’ he said.

When Blair was 17, his dad tragically died, leaving his mum to be the sole breadwinner for the family.

Four years later, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

‘I was only just recovering from the death of my dad when mum was diagnosed.

‘When she was sick my focus was on making sure I was there to take her to her treatments and look after her as her cancer got worse,’ he said.

‘She passed away 18 months later. I was working in retail at the time so the dream of having my own brand was pushed to the side for the time being.

‘I think I was in shock for a long time but I didn’t have any time to deal with it as I had to find somewhere to live and pay the bills.’

Two years after the death of his mum, Blair said he started suffering panic attacks and depression.

At the age of 25, he opened up his own salon in Melbourne, which eventually led to the development of Bondi Sands.

Following his huge success, Blair and his friend Hamish created Growth Bomb, the haircare range targeting hair loss and scalp health.

In November 2020, the ‘miracle’ haircare range launched across Priceline and Chemist Warehouse stores – a rarity for a brand within its first six months of trading.

One insider said: ‘It’s just over 15 acres, including a fallen-down walled garden, but directly next to Chez Beckham.

‘Can you put a price on having neighbours like that?’

Land Registry documents as part of the deeds for Blair references the transfer of the land ‘Upper Park Farm’ from the directors of Great Tew Properties Ltd to the Beckhams when they bought their home in December 2016.

It contained restrictive covenants by the transferor that have since been varied.

The deeds also show the land now owned by Blair and his wife was transferred from Great Tew Properties Limited to Imperium Trust Company in 2021.

Great Tew Properties Limited declined to comment on the sale.

The property now includes a sauna, plunge pool, gym, swimming pool, football pitch, and even a £50,000 safari tent on the grounds – plenty of place to entertain their new neighbours.

It’s now estimated to be worth around £12million.

An investigation was launched into the celebrity couple by West Oxfordshire officers over the sprawling sand bank – after neighbours saw it on TV.

The Cotswolds was once a sleepy haven of rolling hills and honey-coloured stone villages, but the area has now become the ultimate millionaires’ playground.

Celebrities have arrived in their droves, with everyone from Simon Cowell to US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres now calling it home.

This influx of superstars has seen property prices soar – with a simple three-bedroom house in the OX7 postcode now fetching at least £2.5million.

The place is now being dubbed Britain’s ‘Beverly Hills’ as a handful of American stars are crossing the border for a British country escape.

Tom Cruise was the latest A-list star who is set to join the Cotswolds celebrity elite after ‘eyeing up’ mega mansions in the affluent region, The Mail on Sunday revealed.

The Mission: Impossible actor has sent his personal assistant to find a suitable multi-million pound house for him in the wealthy locale that’s home to billionaires, politicians and celebrities including Cruise’s close friends, the Beckhams, the MoS understands.

Cotswolds estate agents have told the Daily Mail they have had their busiest summer for sales to the rich and famous.

This is thanks to their multiple luxury resorts and private members’ clubs that have opened, including The Lakes by Yoo, The Club by Bramford and Estelle Manor.

Helen Whitfield, Head of Residential Agency at Butler Sherborn, said: ‘There has been a slight change in the most desirable area of the Cotswolds.

‘There are a few factors that have led to an easterly shift in location. Firstly, the opening of prestigious members clubs including Soho Farmhouse, Estelle Manor and The Daylesford Club.

‘Secondly, is the rise in international residents, so the need for proximity to International Airports. This brings Heathrow a lot closer as well as Oxford Airport, where private jets can land’.

She added: ‘It has been a particularly busy summer with well-known visitors and residents coming to stay and live in the area.

‘Though there have been high-profile people living in the Cotswolds for many years, it seems the international draw over recent times has increased.

‘As agents who act for clients selling these higher value properties, discretion is of upmost importance, and the most successful agents will not need non-disclosure agreements to be confidential about their sales and purchases.’
