Paige Shiver is opening up about her experiences in a revealing interview.

Months after the 32-year-old’s affair with University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore was made public, she told Good Morning America that she got pregnant during their years-long romance.

Airing on April 24, the interview delves into Shiver’s perspective on the “inappropriate relationship” she had with her former boss, a 40-year-old married father, which the university cited as the reason for his dismissal. Shiver once worked as his assistant, and the fallout from their relationship ultimately led to the coach, Moore, losing his position.

In response to the interview, Moore’s attorney informed GMA that Moore considers the matter concluded and has “closed this chapter.”

When Did the Relationship Between Paige Shiver and Sherrone Moore Begin?

Shiver recounted to GMA’s Linsey Davis that her consensual relationship with Moore began back in 2022 when she was interning at the university. The relationship persisted after her promotion to executive assistant in 2024, coinciding with Moore’s appointment as the university’s head football coach.

Reflecting on their past relationship, Shiver shared that at the time, she believed she was in love with Moore. However, her view has significantly shifted, as she remarked, “Looking back and truly reflecting on what was happening, it’s clear that wasn’t love at all.”

Shiver also revealed feeling compelled to maintain the relationship under the pressure of job security, noting that Moore and other coaches “had control over my career.”

“Every time I tried to pull away, he always had a story,” she told Davis, “always had a way to pull me in and making me feel that I couldn’t leave him because he was so miserable without me.”

Shiver also shared that at one point during the relationship she got pregnant, but had to end the pregnancy after learning the baby had Pompe disease, a genetic disorder that results in a brief life-span, heart problems and skeletal muscle weakness.

She explained, “Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn’t be right or healthy for me to keep the baby.”

When asked whether she had hoped to keep the baby, Shiver broke down in tears before responding “yeah.”

She told Davis that Moore told her, “You have to do what’s right for your body.”

Sherrone Moore is Fired and Arrested

Shiver reported the relationship to university on Dec. 10, leading authorities to fire the head coach for what they deemed was inappropriate behavior.

“U-M head football coach Sherrone Moore has been terminated, with cause, effective immediately,” University of Michigan Athletic Director Warde Manuel told Oxygen at the time. “Following a University investigation, credible evidence was found that Coach Moore engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. This conduct constitutes a clear violation of University policy, and U-M maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.”

Later that day, Moore drove to Shiver’s home, where he was arrested after allegedly threatening to harm himself.

Shiver told Davis that Moore forced his way inside that night.

“All of a sudden, I hear footsteps, and they’re getting closer and louder, and I’m like crap, and so I run to my door to try to lock it,” she recalled. “He barges in, and he’s standing like this close to me. And he said, ‘You ruined my life. Why would you do this to me?’”

Shiver said she tried to walk away, but Moore allegedly followed her, leaving her fearing for her life.

“He comes in with his hood up, looking down at me, saying, I ruined his life, crying, and…then starts coming at me, and I tell him to leave, that he’s not supposed to be here,” she told Good Morning America. “He’s not— he’s not listening to me. And then he starts grabbing, yes, butter knives.”

What Happened to Sherrone Moore After His Arrest?

Moore pleaded no contest to charges of trespassing and malicious use of a telecommunications device involving a domestic relationship in March, per ESPN, in exchange for authorities dropping more serious charges against him. Moore was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $1,000 in April after District Court Judge Cedric Simpson ruled that he didn’t think incarceration was “appropriate” in the case.

“Frankly, Mr. Moore, you had no right to do what you did,” he told Moore while handing down the sentence, per ESPN. “I know she was placed in fear. It was a traumatic experience for you — it was certainly a traumatic experience for her — but you had no right to spread your pain to her.”

Shiver told Davis she would have liked to see Moore go to jail or have “more punishment” for his actions that night.

Shiver also alleged that leadership within the university had been aware of the affair and didn’t intervene, saying, “He controlled everything that was going on in my life, and they didn’t do anything about it.”

In response, Assistant Vice President for Public Affairs and Internal Communications Paul Corliss told Oxygen that the university had acted quickly.

“The University of Michigan terminated Sherrone Moore promptly upon discovering his undisclosed workplace relationship with a direct report,” Corliss said in a statement. “His conduct violated university policy, and we expect more from our leaders. The University of Michigan is committed to ensuring a professional and respectful workplace for all members of its community.”

Oxygen reached out to Moore’s attorney Ellen Michaels for comment on the interview, but did not receive an immediate reply. Michaels told Good Morning America, “Sherrone Moore has closed this chapter.”
