Katherine Ryan disclosed that she experienced a ‘secret hot romance’ with another celebrity as she opened up about her love life in a recent interview on Wednesday.

The comedian, 42, who is expecting her fourth child with her husband Bobby Kootstra, admitted that most people she has dated have been ‘pretty ugly.’

Joining Jamie Laing on his Great Company podcast, she divulged she once ‘f***** a famous hot guy’ but had to be ‘discrete.’

Katherine explained: ‘My husband is a traditional hunk but historically most of the men haven’t even been passable in terms of looks. 

‘I had one secret hot romance. I can’t tell you who. If I want to f*** famous hot guys I have to be discreet because if I want to do it again, they are smart, so I can’t keep saying it.’

‘He wasn’t that famous yet but I knew he was hot. But everyone else has been pretty ugly.’

She continued: ‘The hotter I was, I was dating the uglier. Bobby just happens to be good looking but that’s not my type.

‘Everyone was a psychotic narcissist and they probably say horrible things about me.’

Katherine, who married her childhood sweetheart Bobby in 2019, shares son Fred, four, and daughter Fenna, two, with him. 

She is also mother to her first daughter Violet, 16, from a previous relationship. 

Speaking about Bobby, she added: ‘I remember everything in my life. Bobby, I remember any discretion. Sometimes in therapy, they are like “let that go,” and I’m like I can’t.’

‘I love him but I don’t trust him. I remember what he did to me when we were 16.’ 

The comedian and her husband were childhood sweethearts in their native Canada but separated for 20 years before rekindling their romance in 2018 and marrying the following year.

‘When my current husband and I split up in high school, I was forced to maintain my own dignity to sleep with the prom security guard, but it worked—I got my husband back. He was jealous. I play a long game, filled with self-harm,’ she joked.

She previously admitted that she was so heartbroken by their split that she once refused to leave her dad’s apartment during a fire evacuation. 

Katherine has previously mentioned that Bobby ended their relationship despite them being deeply in love because he believed they were too young and needed to experience life first.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain in 2019, she acknowledged: ‘I was a handful when I was a teenager. When he split with me, I don’t blame him.

‘He was like, “Katherine, we have to travel, we have to go to university.” He was very logical. When you’re 16 and in love, you think that’s it. I was like, “What do you mean we’re not getting married?”‘

Katherine and Bobby didn’t speak for the next two decades, until they happened to bump into each other in a pub, in a twist of fate.

She previously recounted the moment she spotted her teenage love for the first time in 20 years, during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show.

She said: ‘I went to the pub with my sister and into this pub walks my first love from when I was 15 years old.

‘I haven’t seen him in 20 years. I’m in an old jumper, he looked like a full blood Hemsworth brother, just hot… I hadn’t seen him in 20 years.’

She added: ‘I really did like him at the time. When we were young, I was deeply in love with him. We were Prom King and Queen.’

Bobby and Katherine went on to get a civil partnership in 2019, flying to Denmark for the ceremony.
