Since the conclusion of The Real Housewives of Miami Season 6, there have been significant updates for the cast members. Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan ended their relationship, Alexia Nepola ended up divorcing and then reconciling with Todd Nepola, and Marysol Patton officially married her husband after having numerous destination weddings. With the highly anticipated Season 7 set to debut on Bravo soon, fans can expect a thrilling series of episodes, and Patton recently visited DECIDER’s studio to give a sneak peek of the upcoming drama unfolding in Florida.

Among the most surprising Bravo splits of 2024—of which there were several—was the breakup between Pippen and Jordan, who had been deeply involved throughout Season 6. Patton expressed that although she is no longer easily surprised, she was taken aback by the revelation that Jordan—who was recently charged with DUI, drug possession, and resisting arrest—had supposedly been sending Pippen menacing text messages as their relationship came to an end.

“She seemed frightened,” Patton remarked. “It appears he was on a downward spiral. I believe after Pips, there’s no going back for him. He’s shattered. Some women can have that impact on men, leaving them unable to move on.”

Patton also found herself being a shoulder to cry on for Alexia, her best friend of more than two decades, as she went through her divorce with Todd. While Patton claimed Alexia “wasn’t her best self” when she was in the thick of her split, she said the reality star seems “much happier” now that she and Todd have reconciled. “I’m happy when she’s happy and when she is not happy, I’m not happy. I’m on this roller coaster with her,” Patton said.

When we caught up with the Bravo icon, she revealed who she currently trusts the least, how she felt about Dr. Nicole Martin making a cameo after leaving the show, and why she thinks Lisa Hochstein‘s ex-husband Lenny Hochstein never liked her. Check out the full interview below.

DECIDER: Andy Cohen recently said this season of Miami is unbelievable and that the teaser doesn’t even scratch the surface. Would you agree with him? Do you think this is the best season yet?

MARYSOL PATTON: He’s actually said to me a few times, “This season’s so good! It’s so good!” I think it’s really great. I think that we’re kind of in a place where we all knew each other so well. There’s a good camaraderie. And then we have a new girl and she makes it really spicy, too. She’s very good. I believe it’s going to be a fantastic season. 

You and Steve have had a couple of different international weddings, but you finally made it legal in Florida last fall. Were any of your co-stars in attendance? Will we get to see you tie the knot this season?

No, it was just me and him alone like we usually do. Just the two of us.

Why did you decide to just have the two of you?

There are certain conversations that led us to do that and legally marry in Florida and we’re gonna talk about it on the show. So I don’t want to give it all away.

One of the funniest moments in the trailer was when you came in wearing an eye patch. What is the story behind that, if you can share?

Oh, man. I had this horrible stye and it was so awful and the doctor was like, “You cannot put any makeup on your eye.” And I said, “Well, I’m filming a TV show, I cannot not wear makeup.” So I would have my glam just do one eye and then I’d wear a patch to film. 

If anyone can make a stye glamorous, it’s you!

My producers are so funny. They’re like, “Why not do some arts and crafts with some of these to just change up the look?” So, I’m like, “I’m gonna make a dollar sign.” And I made a dollar sign out of diamonds on my eye patch.

There’s a little bit of shakeup this season with Dr. Nicole Martin not coming back full-time. I know you two have had your differences in the past, but what was your reaction to her exit? And were you surprised when she still decided to film? 

I mean, she left for personal reasons and I get that. And that was a good decision for her. I kind of heard rumors that she might do some cameos. So I wasn’t so surprised. 

Nicole is getting replaced by Stephanie, who ironically dated Anthony in the past and also has her own private plane. What can you say about Stephanie and how she meshed with the group?

She is a great addition. I think collectively everybody liked her. And she really owned it. She’s a very good housewife. 

I want to talk about your bestie, Alexia. You say in the trailer that Alexia with Todd is not a good Alexia. What did you mean by that?

I think that when they were going through the thick of things, there was a lot of contention and it made her very anxious. And so then she would bring that out. She wasn’t her best self. I’ve known Alexia [for] 25 years now. She’s my best friend. We’ve been through a lot together. And when they were off, she was off. It was hard. It was hard to have fun with her the way I would always have fun because she just wasn’t the Alexia that I know. So, I attribute it to him and the stressful situation making her not great. 

How did she take that constructive criticism?

She understood, she did. I talked to her about it privately and she cried. She said, “I’m sorry, I’ve been under a lot of stress.” And I was like, “It’s OK. I know that, I know that. I get it. I know that because I know you and you are awesome and you’re not that kind of edgy person.”

Their divorce is finalized now. However, they were spotted kissing fairly recently. What is going on there? How do you, as Alexia’s closest friend, feel about their on-again off-again relationship?

I’m happy when she’s happy and when she is not happy, I’m not happy. So I’m on this roller coaster with her. Like, you know, your best friend’s hurting, you’re hurting too. When they’re happy, you are happy. You know how it is. 

Do you think she seems happier with him now?

She seems happier now. Much happier now.

In the trailer, you suggest that Alexia might just need some new D to move on from Todd. Have you or any of the other ladies tried setting her up with anyone? 

No. Listen, she wasn’t ready. I was ready for her, but she wasn’t ready. And then they got back together. I said that in the beginning because I was trying to come up with – I’d call every day, I’m like, “Maybe I should find you a matchmaker. I just think you need some new D or whatever.” Like, back in the beginning when it just seemed like it was hopeless. Listen, nobody has to worry about Alexia. She’s a beautiful woman. Guys, they’re flies on honey around her. And then I’m like, “Nice.” I hated going out with her when we were both single. All the guys went to her. 

Well, I’m sure it’s nice now that you are both with people.

Oh, I’m sewn up for good now. I tell Steve all the time, “You can’t get rid of me. You’re gonna have to murder me to get rid of me.” He’s like, “I don’t want to get divorced.” I’m like, “Good! Because I’m not gonna divorce you. You’re not going anywhere and I’m not going anywhere. Someone’s gotta die first.” I am too old to start over. He is my third husband and I’m done. I’m going to keep marrying him over and over and again. 

Do you have any plans for the next wedding?

I do. Maybe not this summer, next summer. 

Another destination?

Totally. So we did a cenote in Tulum and then we did Scotland and then you’ll see what we did this year and then in two years I have like a really groovy idea I want to do. I love a theme and I love being the center of it. I have to throw my own parties, unfortunately, to get some attention. 

Alexia isn’t the only one going through a split this season. Larsa and Marcus also broke up – despite how in love they seemed in Season 6. Were you surprised by their split?

Nothing surprises me these days. Nothing surprises me at all. I’m just rolling with it. You’re happy? I’m happy. You broke up? Too bad. I’ve had a million breakups, a few marriages, 50,000 boyfriends, it’s life. We’re just living life. 

When we last talked, you said you absolutely adored Marcus. What were your thoughts on him allegedly sending Larsa threatening text messages, as she claimed in the trailer?

I was shocked and I felt bad for her because she seemed scared. 

I know a lot of stuff has kind of come up since, so I guess it seems like he kind of took a turn for the worst. 

Yeah, it looks like he was going down a bad path. I think after Pips, there’s no coming back. He’s broken. Sme women have that effect on men. They just can’t recover. 

Speaking of Larsa, she seems pretty skeptical about Lisa’s relationship with Jody. What do you think of their relationship? Do you agree that he’s a social climber?

I really like Jodi for Lisa. He pays a lot of attention to her and he guides her and I think he’s been really good for her. Yeah, she’s a better Lisa with Jodi. 

She seems a lot lighter.

Lighter, more engaging. She’s more, you know, a happy monkey. 

She’s had enough sadness and stress in the last few years.

It was heartbreaking. We all felt it for her … There were nine women hating on Lenny. There you go. You do not want to be on the other end of that kind of juju. 

It seems like he’s gotten some karma, don’t you think?

I don’t keep up with him. Never have. I don’t think he ever liked me anyway.

Really? Why not?

Every time I’d come over, he’d just be like, [side eye]. I think you gotta get the hint. After a few times, you get the hit when you get this side eye when you walk in. 

You and Adriana de Moura have obviously had a tough time in the past. Where will we see your friendship go this season? 

Must we ask this question? [Laughs]. I’ll tell you one thing. I’ve given it the college try. I always try to get along with her. I really, really, really do. And she makes it very difficult. That’s all I’m going to say.

You are such an icon in the Bravo universe. I’m not sure if you saw, but your “who do you trust the least” game made its way to Southern Hospitality when Michols suggested that everyone play it over a cast dinner. When he talked to us, he said you absolutely inspired the idea to play the game. What is your reaction to that?

That’s cool. Thanks, Michols. 

Well, it caused a lot of tension there, too, just like it did for you guys! 

You know what? It’s a quick way to get to the point and it’s disruptive. And sometimes when a scene’s falling flat you just gotta pull a, “Who do you trust the least,” in a group and everything goes to chaos. 

Those little games always make for great television, like when Heather Gay had everyone read the meanest text they’ve ever sent about each other.

I saw that. I was like, “This is really confusing.” That was a long explanation. That was hard. I wouldn’t have been able to follow. I would have been like, “What? Wait, we’re gonna do what? And we got to scroll?” You have to have a game that’s off the cuff. 

Who do you trust the least at this moment?

On my show? Adriana … That’s pretty much for everybody. 

Are there any other projects you’re currently working on? I know you have your hair extension line! 

Oh, it’s amazing. It’s called Locks and Maine. I met this amazing girl named Jennifer Parrott and I fell in love with her. I kind of just loved everything that she’s doing. She built the business from scratch on her own. She’s from Toronto. While she was building the business, her son had leukemia. She was in the hospital all the time with him. And she’s managed to get herself on Home Shopping Network, 500 Ulta stores. Bloomingdales, now they’re selling them at Dry Bars. She’s just doing so great. And I fell in love with her, you know? I said, “I want to hitch myself to your wagon. May I invest in your company?” And she said yes. I’m really excited about it. We have it on the show. They’re wonderful hair extensions. They’re the clip-in hair extensions. They’re for everyone. Pop them in, take them out. Real hair, you can color them. They’re amazing. 

I love a business with a good backstory!

I marvel at her and I love her, and I consider her like my little sister now, and I protect her, and sometimes you just have to invest in people. 

What else can you tease about The Real Housewives of Miami Season 7?

It’s awesome! It’s so awesome! It’s really good and we have three cast trips and it’s a really, really, really, really good season and I feel like the more time we all spend together, the closer we get and the more it just becomes like a real, real group of friends. We have a strong bond. I feel like our group of friends, there’s like there’s a very strong nucleus that I feel I don’t think there is on any other show. We’ve all known each other a long time. 

That’s what makes it so great. You’re actually friends. It doesn’t feel some strangers have been cast and thrown in a room together.

No, no, no. We’ve been through so much. Deaths, divorces, destruction, reboot, all of it.
