Sara Carton is laughing off that “under the bus” moment from the Love Is Blind reunion.

Sara, 29, took to Instagram Stories on Monday, March 10, and shared a meme inspired by her awkward encounter with ex Ben Mezzenga during the reunion episode that aired the day before. In the meme from @thebitchelorette, Ben, 28, is quoted saying “I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus.” Meanwhile, the account depicted Sara’s reaction to that quote with an illustration of a woman smiling and tossing a baby up in the air like a basketball. 

Sara gave the meme her seal of approval: Eight laughing emojis.

She and Ben reunited in Sunday’s episode and discussed the fallout of their relationship. After their failed Netflix wedding, the exes had tried to date and lived together for a week or so. Ben allegedly agreed to move to Nashville with Sara, but never followed through. Sara claimed that Ben removed her from Find My Friends and broke things off with “three very scripted apologies.” However, Ben claimed that they’d had a breakup talk before Sara left for Nashville. But that was not how Sara remembered it: According to her, the plans for him to move in with her were still in place. 

When they reconnected weeks later, Ben reached out to Sara and tried to get on good terms with her — and did so on the advice of a former Love Is Blind cast member. Though Ben didn’t want to name names — and throw anyone under the proverbial bus — Sara revealed that it was season 6’s Jimmy Presnell who advised Ben to contact Sara ahead of the reunion and script responses with her. 

Sara said Sunday that she no longer trusted Ben — not after the TikTok allegations against him. “Knowing now what I know about Ben, a TikTok like that makes sense,” she declared on camera.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly published on March 7, Sara explained why she rejected Ben at the altar on the season 8 finale of Love Is Blind. A TikTok — which alleged that Ben had mistreated an ex — factored heavily into her decision not to move forward with their wedding.

“The TikTok was hard. The TikTok is when I was like, ‘I have a lot more I need to get to know about Ben.’ I don’t want that to make it seem like that was my decision-maker because I continued moving forward thinking, ‘We can get past this.’ But that was big for me,” she told Us. “And that was big for my family, for trust and making sure this is a safe person to be with and to get married.”

Later, Sara discovered more bad social media buzz about Ben, including a post from one person alleging that the former baseball player had given business cards advertising his YouTube channel to past flings.

“I received that YouTube card [or a picture of it] five days before the wedding,” Sara revealed to Us. “It was actually sent to me from a friend in Nashville. I was a travel nurse at the time in Nashville and his friend sent it to him. I was like, ‘This is crazy.’”

Sara didn’t bother confronting Ben about it at the time. “I kept it very close to my heart. I was like, ‘I can’t handle anything more. I cannot bring this up.’ So I just didn’t,” she said. “That was just one more thing [that] made me feel like, ‘OK, he may not be as genuine as he is saying or seems to be.’ And it all made sense after the wedding.”
