Sheffield United host Cardiff City at Bramall Lane this afternoon in need of three points. The advantage in the race for the play-offs is with Paul Heckingbottom’s men as they sit sixth in the Championship standings with just three matches remaining.
However, with just one win in five and only three wins in their last 11, the Blades need a victory. The Bluebirds arrive having lost three of their last four matches but had enjoyed a purple patch before then with 10 points from 12 to move well clear of the relegation picture.
United won the reverse fixture earlier in the season in only Heckingbottom’s second game in charge. Trailing at the break, United turned the screw in the second half with three goals in the space of 14 minutes to secure a 3-2 success.
