Australian pop sensation Sia has subtly criticized her estranged husband, Daniel Bernard, amidst news about her significant monthly child support payments to him.
Reports surfaced earlier this week, courtesy of PEOPLE, revealing that the 50-year-old singer has agreed to pay Bernard a sum of $40,000 USD, approximately $61,000 AUD, every month. This arrangement is part of a joint custody agreement for their two-year-old son, Somersault ‘Summi’ Wonder Bernard.
Following these revelations on Wednesday, Sia took to the platform X to indirectly comment on her ex-husband, posting the remark: “Good dads get jobs.”
Sia, whose full name is Sia Furler, initiated divorce proceedings against Bernard in March 2025. The couple had tied the knot in 2022 and welcomed their son the following year.
According to the report by PEOPLE, Sia’s child support payments commenced on April 1, 2026. These payments are set to continue until their son reaches the age of 18 or, if still in full-time high school, until he graduates or turns 19.
In addition to the child support payments, Sia will cover the costs of her son’s private school education, extracurricular activities, and health insurance.

The joint custody arrangement reportedly outlines specific days Bernard will have custody of their son, as well as a division of holidays between the parents.
In another post to X on Wednesday, Sia shared: ‘I’m a sober working mum trying to buy peace. I have primary custody of our son and since I am the only parent earning income I still have to pay California’s incredibly high child support. ‘
‘This has been a horrific year but it taught me how to navigate incredibly difficult situations, prioritise my family and not absorb other people’s negativity. ‘To err is human, to forgive is divine.”
It comes six months after Bernard, who previously worked as a radiation oncologist, filed a request seeking sole legal and physical custody.
He alleged that Sia was ‘an unfit and unreliable parent struggling with substance abuse and addiction’.
Bernad also asked the court to award him US$77,245 (approximately AUD$110,500) in monthly child support, calling Sia’s conduct ‘reckless, dangerous’ and demonstrative of her ‘utter disregard for Summi’s safety and well-being.’
Adelaide-born Sia fervently denied his claims, saying in a court filing that she had been sober for six months.
The Chandelier performer said that Bernad was making accusations about her drug use that were ‘entirely unfounded and misleading.’
Earlier this week, PEOPLE reported that the hitmaker, 50, had agreed to pay Bernard $US40,000 (approximately $AUD61,000) for their two-year-old son, Somersault ‘Summi’ Wonder Bernard, as part of a joint custody agreement

According to PEOPLE, Sia’s child supports began on April 1 2026 and will cease when the child turns 18 or, if he is still attending high school full time, until he graduates or turns 19

Sia said Bernad had ‘zero evidence’ that the child was in any kind of danger while she was caring for him.
Sia also said in a court filing that she was currently in a drug rehab rehabilitation program that included regular testing and a sober companion.
A judge later denied Bernad’s request for sole custody.
Bernad had also previously requested temporary spousal support of US$250,856 (AUD$366,000) per month.
Bernard claimed he has been left with no income after he stopped working in his regular job in 2021 to open a ketamine treatment clinic with Sia, and insisted the singer was aware the move would lead to his medical license expiring.
The former couple formed a company, Modern Medicine, in 2022 but the documents alleged Sia stopped funding the venture in March 2025.
Her estranged husband hadn’t received a salary since then, despite an alleged agreement for him to continue in the business until July.
The former medic requested the huge spousal support figure in order to maintain the ‘luxurious and upper-class lifestyle’ he had enjoyed with Sia, which included over $400,000 in monthly expenses for private jets, holidays, high-end dining and several full-time members of staff.
Sia was previously in a two-year marriage to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang that ended in 2016.
