The second season of The Last of Us approaches its tumultuous conclusion. This acclaimed HBO series has pushed its audience to the limits this season, with heart-wrenching losses, unexpected twists, and an intense civil conflict on the streets of Seattle.

In the thrilling penultimate episode, viewers were treated to a series of poignant flashbacks, fleshing out the narrative between Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey). These moments showcased their brightest times, such as their playful day in a deserted museum for Ellie’s birthday, and their darkest times, revealing why Ellie harbored anger towards Joel at the season’s onset, and capturing the moment Joel confessed his actions in Salt Lake City.

As we last saw Ellie, she was heading back to the theater where she and Dina (Isabela Merced) had found refuge. After her encounter with Nora (Tati Gabrielle), a former Firefly involved in Joel’s tragic end, Ellie is left with four more individuals on her list: Mel (Ariela Barer), Manny (Danny Ramirez), Owen (Spencer Lord), and especially Abby (Kaitlyn Dever).
