Reports suggest that Taylor Swift and her former close friend Blake Lively have not communicated since their friendship unraveled due to Lively’s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
A source informed Page Six on Thursday that there has been “no contact” between the two, dismissing rumors of a quiet reunion as inaccurate.
Speculation among fans has been rife, with many believing Lively might be the muse, or at least a partial inspiration, for Swift’s track “Cancelled” from her latest album, “The Life Of A Showgirl.”
In the song, Swift sings, “Good thing I like my friends cancelled, I like ’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal,” hinting at the turbulent dynamics of their friendship.
While the lyrics suggest their fallout wasn’t entirely catastrophic, their strained relationship has persisted, particularly after Lively entangled Swift in her legal issues.
According to the Page Six source, the once inseparable duo has not spoken for nearly a year, with their last exchange occurring in the winter of 2024.

Since then, Swift has wrapped up the Eras Tour and gotten engaged.
Another insider also confirmed the reports, telling the outlet that they have not spoken nor seen each other but did not elaborate on a timeline.
Earlier this month, Lively made the first move in attempting to repair their rift as she gave her former friend an Instagram like on the post celebrating when she dropped her newest album.
This comes after it was revealed that Lively is reportedly touched by comments that have come from Swift’s orbit.
Earlier this week, TMZ claimed that the Gossip Girl star was happy when Swift’s fiancé Travis Kelce called her a ‘friend’ on his New Heights podcast — in an episode from March 2024 which was mysteriously re-uploaded for the public on Tuesday.
Lively’s name came up when Kelce and his brother were looking back at the actress’s hit 2005 film Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants — months before Lively and Swift would have a falling out amid the Justin Baldoni It Ends With Us lawsuit.
That is when the Kansas City Chiefs football star called Lively a ‘friend’ of theirs.

Page Six’s source further claimed that the former best friends have not talked for almost an entire year, with their last communication being the winter of 2024; seen in February 2024
The site’s source said the A-list movie bombshell was ‘taken aback, given her fallout with Swift’ and was overall ‘pleasantly surprised by the comments.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to Lively’s representative for comment but did not immediately hear back.
This comes after Lively hit the like button on one of Swift’s Instagram posts before she released her album The Life of a Showgirl.
Lively and Swift reportedly had a falling out when the actress got into a legal fight with her It Ends With Us co-star Baldoni.
Lively’s old texts were shared where she described herself as Khaleesi from Game of Thrones and referred to Swift one of her dragons.
The text made it seem as if Lively had control over Swift, which likely rubbed the pop star the wrong way, though she never said a word publicly.
Also, though Swift could have, she did not put down Lively on her new album; instead, she took aim at Charli XCX and Kelce’s ex.
In September it was claimed that Swift did not agree to be deposed in the Justin Baldoni / Blake Lively case but will do so ‘if forced’.

The singer’s one-time best friend Blake is suing her It Ends With Us co-star and director Baldoni for harassment and accusing him of creating a hostile work environment on set, which he has denied.
After Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman said Swift had ‘agreed to appear for deposition’ but is unable to do so until October 20 due to ‘Ms. Swift’s pre-existing professional obligations,’ her own attorney clarified that she ‘did not agree’ to testify and has ‘no material role’ in the matter.
According to PEOPLE, her lawyer Doug Baldridge of Venable LLP said she only learned of the deposition request from Baldoni’s team three days ago.
He said in a letter: ‘Further, my client did not agree to a deposition, but if she is forced into a deposition, we advised (after first hearing about the deposition just three days ago) that her schedule would accommodate the time required during the week of October 20 if the parties were able to work out their disputes.’
The case, Blake Lively v. Wayfarer Studios LLC, et al, is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026, with all depositions due to be completed by September 30.
This comes after it was ruled in June that Baldoni’s legal team could have access to messages between Lively and Swift.
E! News previously reported that the judge ruled texts between Lively and Swift were ‘relevant’ to the case.
However, any correspondence between the pair will be under a protective order to stop them being leaked to the press.
