Celebrity MasterChef is gearing up to return to BBC One this summer, bringing together a sparkling array of stars from the realms of film, television, sports, and the arts, all vying for the 2024 trophy.

Among the celebrity participants competing to win the 19th series are reality star and influencer Charlotte Crosby, model and television personality Christine McGuinness, and Eastenders actress Danielle Harold.

Hosts John Torode and Gregg Wallace will be scrutinizing the culinary endeavors of the 20 celebrities, as they guide them through six weeks of progressively challenging tasks.

Each celebrity will be rolling up their sleeves as they step into the kitchen, but only one will come out on top in this battle and earn the title of MasterChef Champion 2024, following in the footsteps of winner Wynne Evans last year.

Other celebrities battling it out include reality TV star Chloe Burrows, TV and radio presenter Craig Doyle, and The Traitors star Diane Carson.

TV and radio presenter Edith Bowman, model and TV personality Emma Thynn, comedian and actor Eshaan Akbar, and Gladiator and Team GB Sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey will also appear on the show.

They will be joined by the likes of Steps pop star Ian ‘H’ Watkins, singer, actor, and presenter Jake Quickenden, Comedian Jamie MacDonald, popstar Mutya Buena, and BBC Radio 2 presenter, OJ Borg.

Completing the line-up are actor Rochenda Sandall, TV and radio presenter Snoochie Shy, actor Tamer Hassan, and Strictly pro Vito Coppola.

The show will kick off with four Heat weeks of three episodes aimed at testing the celebrities’ skills in the kitchen.

The challenges then take the cream of the crop towards the sharp end of the competition, as only the most talented cooks continue on through the final stages.

The first Heat episode sees five new celebs each week face their first daunting task – the notorious ‘Under The Cloche’ challenge – creating a dish from scratch that shows off what they can do.

Next, they will need to deliver a two-course dinner party menu. The successful cooks will then get the chance to step inside the world of a professional restaurant and think-up their own food truck dish.

Then, in the quarter finals, they face an all-important critique from returning Champions and Finalists.

Katie Attwood, MasterChef Series Editor, said: ‘Celebrity MasterChef fans are in for a treat this summer – with a top line-up of celebrities and the ever-thrilling John and Gregg on judging duty.

‘These stars will need to pull out all the stops this year as we’re really testing their mettle. It’s one you won’t want to miss!’

Sarah Clay, Commissioning Editor for the BBC, added: ‘The standard of this competition gets higher every year, so expect lots of laughs and some fierce rivalry as we’re set for some of the hardest challenges yet.

‘These celebs are a brave brunch and are taking us on a brilliant ride – all in the trusty hands of our distinguished Judges, John and Gregg.’

This series follows the landmark 20th series of MasterChef earlier this year, which saw veterinary surgeon Brin Pirathapan become champion.

The 29-year-old was chosen as the winner after what was branded ‘the best final in the show’s history.’

Meanwhile, the 2023 series of Celebrity MasterChef saw opera singer and broadcaster Wynne Evans beat fellow finalists Luca Bish and Amy Walsh after impressing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace with his adventurous menu.

The final trio were tasked with cooking a faultless three-course meal in two hours for the judges in a last-ditch effort to be named the 18th Celebrity MasterChef champion.

And Wynne proved he had what it took to come out on top after rustling up a fantastic feast featuring a Japanese-inspired tuna tartare and cannon of lamb.

Celebrity Masterchef, produced by Shine TV, will return to BBC One this summer.
