Series about losing the weight, Jaz considers undergoing surgery
‘But now, it’s time to get busy,’ Jaz says.
Now serious about dropping the pounds for the sake of her daughter, she visits a doctor about undergoing weight loss surgery.
‘I’m all my daughter has. I have to be here for her,’ she tells her doctor.
The stakes are high, with the doctor telling the camera: ‘If Jasmine doesn’t undergo the surgery, most likely she will not survive for long.’
However, Jaz is fearful of going under the knife: ‘Surgery is something that like scares the f**k out of me,’ she says.
Complicating matters are the fact for Jaz is that she and her roommate are not on the same page when it comes to their weight loss goals.
‘It would be easier if you were doing this with me,’ Jaz tells Nesha.
However Nesha admits: ‘I want to lose weight but that doesn’t mean I have to be stuck on a scale all the time.’
The methods Jaz has taken to lose the weight include a ‘weight loss shot’ however she does not specify which one.
‘I’ve been taking the weight loss shot,’ Jaz tells family, who express their reservations. ‘I don’t like that shot,’ one of her family members says.
Jaz’s weight loss concerns Nesha with her roommate now admitting to being in a lot of pain.
‘I’m in pain,’ Jaz says, clarifying she felt the pain ‘everywhere.’
‘Yeah she’s losing the weight, but at what cost?’ Nesha postulates in a confessional.
At one point, Jaz seemingly suffering a medical emergency as she is taken away by an ambulance.
She breaks down while speaking with Nesha from her hospital bed via Facetime.
‘Nesha, I’m scared. What if I’m never gonna be able to walk again?’
Cameras also capture the dramatic moment she is wheeled into surgery. Jaz appears anxious tapping her finger before undergoing an unknown procedure.
‘I don’t know what happened to her but I know that it’s a wake-up call,’ a tearful Nesha says.
