Tommy Hilfiger nearly took a tumble during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding extravaganza in Venice on Friday.

The 74-year-old fashion designer stumbled as he attempted to board a water taxi, nearly taking a plunge in front of the newlywed couple and their illustrious wedding guests.

In the footage, he can be seen ahead of quarterback Tom Brady, who faced the possibility of an uncomfortable encounter with a past partner at an event widely regarded as the ‘wedding of the century.’

While chatting with those around him, Hilfiger stumbled and nearly fell face first into the canal.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling disclosed Hilfiger’s words before and after the stumble, highlighting a brief conversation with Brady, who stood behind him in line.

The lip reader said that Hilfiger turned back to Brady, who was directly behind him in the queue, and allegedly told him: ‘You can go after me.’

While the line seemed to be moving slowly as the slew of wedding guests dressed in black tie apparel were carefully stepping into each water taxi, some celebrities appeared impatient and started striking up conversations with each other. 

The lip reader said that Hilfiger looked to his side and asked: ‘Why do we need to stand here?’

Then, he trips with the long step down, and an assistant helped steady the designer who then laughs off the misstep and continues on his way.

He appeared to have lost his footing more than once but shrugged it off and threw up a peace sign to onlookers.

After Hilfiger was steady on his feet again, Brady appeared to make a joke and, while smiling, said to the fashion designer: ‘Are you drunk?’

He was then seen waving to fans standing on the other side of the canal as they witnessed the celebrity migration to a different location for the weekend-long festivities. 

This comes as Hilfiger and his wife Dee Ocleppo joined the slew of celebrities at gathering of the world’s elites for the billionaire’s nuptials to the former journalist.

He was also carrying a plastic water bottle in his hand when the unsteady moment occurred.
