Katy Perry and Luke Bryan after reaching a tie in the inaugural Judge’s Song Contest picked Lady K to advance on Monday’s episode of American Idol on ABC.

The season 20 episode featured a contest within the competition as each judge picked songs for the top 11 to perform and earned a point if they chose their song.

Katy, 37, and Luke, 45, each finished with four points during the two-hour episode, while Lionel Richie, 72, racked up three points.

Since Katy and Luke tied, they decided together which of the bottom two contestants should advance and chose 25-year-old Alabama singer Lady K.

Fellow Alabama singer Tristen Gressett, 17, was eliminated from the competition.

The two-hour, coast-to-coast live show opened with Nicolina, 18, of Toronto, performing Since U Been Gone by past American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson.

Nicolina guessed that Katy picked the song, but Lionel was first on the board when it was revealed Since U Been Gone was his song choice for her.

Mike Parker, 27, a carpenter from Warrenton, Virginia, was up next and sang Chasin’ You by Morgan Wallen.

He guessed afterward that Luke picked the song and was correct.

Fritz Hager, 23, of Tyler, Texas, earned a standing ovation after his unique rendition of Wonderwall by Oasis.

He incorrectly guessed that Katy picked the song, but she actually had selected God Only Knows by The Beach Boys for him.

‘I do have a thing for English men, yes. But I’m a California girl and The Beach Boys have always been my number one,’ Katy told Fritz, subtly referencing her fiance Orlando Bloom, 45.

Luke then took an early lead as he took credit for choosing Wonderwall for Fritz and congratulated himself much to the chagrin of Katy and Lionel.

Christian Guardino, 21, of Patchogue, New York, took on the Sam Smith song I’m Not The Only One.

He guessed that Luke picked the song, but Katy took credit and earned another point.

After his performance, Ryan asked Noah for his guess on which judge picked the song.

‘I picked Katy. But honestly, I don’t know. I picked Katy. That was my guess,’ Noah said.

Ryan then asked Katy for her review of Noah’s performance.

Lady K then took the stage and belted out Traitor by Olivia Rodrigo.

She confidently declared that Katy picked the song, but it turned out to be Lionel’s choice.

‘I really love this game,’ Lionel said as he gained a point after earlier joking that he disliked it.

She guessed that Lionel picked the song, but Luke broke into a victory dance as he revealed it was his song choice for HunterGirl, real name Hunter Wolkonowski.

Leah Marlene, 20, from Normal, Illinois, was up next and played guitar while singing Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan.

Tristen took center stage next and performed You Can’t Always Get What You Want by the Rolling Stones.

He gave an energetic performance and afterward confidently declared that Lionel picked the song.

Lionel then stood up and took credit for the song choice as he gained his third point.

Talented teenager Emyrson Flora, 16, of Cleveland, was the penultimate performer and took on the Billie Eilish song Lovely.

Platinum ticket winner Jay Copeland, 23, of Salisbury, Maryland, was the final performer and performed Lilac Wine by Jeff Buckley.

‘I wouldn’t bet against me,’ Katy boasted after staging her successful comeback.

Ryan then revealed the results of viewer voting during the episode and announced that Tristen and Lady K, real name Kezia Istonia, finished in the bottom two.

Katy and Luke huddled before they jointly announced they were saving Lady K to round out the Top 10 as the episode ended.

American Idol will return next week on ABC.
