Alan Ritchson is best recognized for his role as Jack Reacher in “Reacher,” a highly popular action series on Prime Video adapted from Lee Child’s books. The series centers around Jack as he travels across America, assisting local law enforcement in solving crimes. Ritchson’s career began in 2005 with the character Aquaman in “Smallville,” where he played the superhero in multiple episodes until 2010. That same year, he secured a leading role in “Blue Mountain State,” playing linebacker Thad Castle for three seasons in this football-themed sitcom. Viewers may also know him as Gloss from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” Raphael in 2014’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” Agent Aimes in “Fast X,” or Anders Lassen in “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.”
A decade before becoming an action star, Ritchson appeared on “I Can Do That,” a one-season competition series. This show featured celebrities competing to replicate iconic performances from famous musicians, magicians, and more, partnering with both the original performers and a co-participant.

“I Can Do That” involved six contestants striving to recreate well-known performances under the mentorship of the original artists. Alan Ritchson went head-to-head with Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls, Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, “Dancing with the Stars” star Cheryl Burke, comedian Jeff Dye, and singer/actor Ciara. Each week, the contestants teamed up to deliver a performance and earned points judged on how effectively they emulated the original act.
Although Ritchson auditioned for “American Idol” in the early 2000s without making it as a contestant, “I Can Do That” allowed fans to witness his singing and dancing abilities. His standout performance occurred during the first week with Scherzinger, as they recreated an aerial theater show by AiRealistic. Later, viewers watched him team up with Jonas to emulate the Blue Man Group and perform an “America’s Got Talent” act with Ciara. While he didn’t win the competition—that title went to Scherzinger—Ritchson finished fourth, tallying 14 points in total.
