Contains spoilers for “King of the Hill” Season 14, Episode 9 — “No Hank Left Behind”

There are plenty of surprises in Hulu’s “King of the Hill” Season 14, and one of the most delightful is the appearance of Hank’s half-brother Junichiro. Fans haven’t seen him since Season 6’s “Returning Japanese,” recognized as one of the top 25 episodes of “King of the Hill.” Though he made a background appearance in “Lucky’s Wedding Suit,” he didn’t have any lines.

Junichiro’s return in Season 14’s “No Hank Left Behind” isn’t under favorable circumstances; Hank, Junichiro, and G.H., Hank’s other half-brother, each receive about a thousand dollars from a class-action lawsuit related to a commercial ointment used by Cotton Hill. This product was revealed to lack any healing properties and mainly contained chili peppers.

His appearance, albeit brief and conducted via a video call, is sure to pique the interest of the audience, many of whom were eager for Hank’s Japanese half-brother to appear in Season 14. Fans are now likely anticipating more of Junichiro in the forthcoming Season 15. Notably, he isn’t the only minor or supporting character making a resurgence in the “King of the Hill” reboot.

Several supporting characters return for Season 14

Junichiro is just one of several minor and supporting characters returning in the revival. Hank’s stepmother Didi and G.H. have significant roles in “No Hank Left Behind,” marking their only appearance throughout the season. Additionally, Buck Strickland is featured prominently in the episode “A Sounder Investment,” maneuvering his way into the group’s new feral hog eradication business. He persuades them to make it a publicly traded company, only to derail it due to his mismanagement.

The Wassanasong family also plays important roles in the “King of the Hill” revival, significantly impacting Bobby’s storyline: Chase is now dating Connie Souphanousinphone, while Ted and Cindy are primary investors in Bobby’s restaurant. Ted is notably featured, appearing in Episode 3, “Bobby Gets Grilled,” and later with his wife during Kahn and Minh’s anniversary party in “Kahn-scious Uncoupling.” There may be more appearances from these characters in Season 15.
