In the latest episode of “NCIS,” titled “Stolen Moments,” fans are introduced to another of Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon) infamous rules. This time, it’s Rule 24: “There’s no such thing as perfect timing.” This principle becomes particularly significant for Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), who is grappling with feelings of loneliness and longing as he considers rekindling his relationship with Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). However, as Gibbs’ rule suggests, Jimmy might have missed the optimal moment to express his feelings.
Jimmy finds an unexpected confidant in the team’s new AI assistant, the Data Assisted Workflow Navigator, which he affectionately dubs DAWN. While DAWN is intended for professional use, her blunt assessment of Jimmy’s personal life prompts him to confront his emotions. He realizes the importance of seizing the moment to convey his feelings to Jessica, especially as her growing connection with Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) threatens to thwart his chances.

Jimmy and Jessica or Jimmy, Jessica, and Nick?
The episode stirs the ongoing debate among “NCIS” fans about potential romantic pairings. Many viewers see Torres and Knight as the second coming of the beloved duo, Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo), and hope for a romantic development. Meanwhile, others root for a rekindled romance between Knight and Jimmy. “Stolen Moments” hints at a potential love triangle. DAWN, with Jimmy’s unwitting permission, allows him to overhear a conversation between Jessica and Nick during an investigation. As Jessica discusses a date with someone else, Jimmy finds himself overwhelmed with jealousy, suggesting his feelings may have deeper implications than he realized.
Later, Nick and Jimmy talk and Nick suggests Jimmy misses Jess. But Jimmy insists the relationship is in the past and that he realizes the timing wasn’t right. Much later, thanks to the case of the week, Jimmy changes his mind and approaches Jess after hours. Unfortunately, before he can get to her, he watches from afar as Nick and Jessica get into an elevator together. Heartache is definitely on the horizon for Jimmy — but it remains up in the air as to which guy, if any, Jessica will settle down with.
