“Love Island” is consistently filled with wild characters and thrilling scenarios, and Rob Rausch stands out as one of the show’s most controversial contestants. Unfortunately, he will not be appearing on “Love Island: Beyond the Villa” due to a scheduling conflict and the filming location. Rausch mentioned that he was committed to filming Season 4 of “The Traitors” in Scotland for Peacock and felt that abruptly appearing in Los Angeles for this “Love Island” spin-off would feel unnatural.
“Like, what do you want me to do? Just show up and say, ‘Hey, this is my life. I live here for eight weeks.’ It just didn’t make sense. It was unauthentic to me. So I was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t think I can do it,'” he expressed, revealing the “Love Island” news during an Instagram live chat with fellow series alum JaNa Craig (via the gossip account Too Hot Tea).
Since everyone is aware that he’s not based in Los Angeles, he declined a spot on “USA.” Instead, he will stay in Scotland and remain focused on filming the next season of “The Traitors,” the popular Peacock reality show hosted by Alan Cumming. Will he play the role of a backstabber or a hero this time? To find out, it might be best to revisit his past on “Love Island.”
Rob Rausch hasn’t given up on reality shows entirely
Rob Rausch gained popularity as a contestant during the fifth and sixth seasons of “Love Island.” He initially appeared as part of a Casa Amor twist in Episode 16 of Season 5 and, despite not making it into the main villa, was so beloved by fans that he was brought into the main house in Season 6.
However, his popularity took a hit in Season 6 when Rausch became one of the show’s most infamous villains after leaving what seemed to be a promising relationship with Leah Kateb to partner with Andrea Carmona. Carmona was shortly eliminated, and Rausch then tried to pair up with four other contestants before fans ended his run on Day 30. To add to his woes, his relationship with Carmona didn’t work out off-camera either, leaving him single.
Despite his rocky record with romance, Rausch continues to enjoy life and the sun. Until he can reconcile his schedule for a “Love Island” comeback, fans can keep up with him on Instagram and TikTok, where he shares his global adventures and wildlife encounters. Hopefully, his worldwide experiences will aid him in handling his “Traitors” competitors.
