Family sources disclosed to the Instagram blog, Linda Ikeji that the actor had been on life support following a second surgery for his condition.

His blood pressure was said to have exceeded 200 after the surgery, and efforts were underway to stabilize it before his unfortunate demise later that evening.

It is worth noting that Mr. Ibu had been grappling with recurrent blood clotting in his leg (attributed to diseased blood vessels) and other health issues for years.

In October 2023, he publicly appealed for financial assistance to address his illness. Despite plans to transport him overseas for further medical attention, his doctors deemed him unfit to travel, leading to the cancellation of the arrangement. During his treatment, his leg was amputated in November 2023.

The actor is survived by his wife and children, and he was 62 years old at the time of his passing. Mr. Ibu was renowned for his exceptional portrayal of comedic roles in movies.
