TOPIC: The Price For Freedom (Seeds Of Destiny 6 May 2025)

SCRIPTURE: Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Freedom is not free.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2025 MESSAGE:

Our anchor scripture makes us understand that the Spirit and Presence of God guarantees the freedom of man. John 8:32 says, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. And in John 14:6, our Lord Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the life: So, we can paraphrase John 8:32 thus: And ye shall know the Lord, and the Lord shall make you free. That means, you shall experience the truth who is the Person of Jesus Christ, and the truth shall make you free.

Therefore, the presence of God guarantees the freedom of man. However, there is no possibility without responsibility. Freedom is not free. You have heard of freedom fighters; they contend in battle for their freedom.

Now, what do you do to experience freedom? What are those forces that are deployed to secure freedom? Today, we are looking at a force called CHARACTER CHANGE.

There are captivity situations that are tied to certain character defects. Only a change in character can bring an end to such captivity. In Acts 8:23, when Peter was speaking to that sorcerer in Samaria, he said, For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. So, iniquity has a bond. The change in character of the prodigal son triggered his liberty. He said, “I will humble myself. I will tell my father, ‘I am not worthy of being called your son; make me a servant” (Luke 15:21 Paraphrased). He left home with covetousness, pride and arrogance, but when that pride and covetousness broke, his liberty came.

There are people who will never be free until they become humble. There are people who will never see freedom until their kleptomaniac tendency breaks.

See a direct example of the Indian Hemp smoker who is running mad because of cannabis. But whenever he stops smoking Indian Hemp, he gains his sanity and freedom. Now, no matter how much prayer you pray for him, he may be free temporarily, but if he continues smoking it, he will invite the madness back.

There are young ladies who are not married yet because they have certain character traits that are contrary to marriage. And God knows that if they marry in that condition, either the husband kills them, or the marriage ends in disaster. So, character change is a force that guarantees freedom.

Beloved, is there any form of captivity that is limiting your life because of your character? Make up your mind to change the character, and the captivity will be terminated.

Remember this: Freedom is not free.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

1. Take out a day or more according to your capacity in fasting and praying and ask God to work on You and give you the grace to live upright.
2. Trust God to stop every negative habit in your life.

PRAYER: Father, open my eyes to see the kind of character change I need for my freedom to be established. Work on me O Lord both in and out till I become all You have in mind for me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
