Manchester United are prepared to cash in on Harry Maguire for the second summer in a row, talkSPORT understands.

The England defender was on the verge of joining West Ham this time last year before the move collapsed after he refused to take a pay cut.

As the Red Devils prioritize signing a new center-back and show keen interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, the future of the England defender remains uncertain once more.

Maguire, who has admirers in Italy where former United teammate Chris Smalling has excelled, is into the final year of his contract.

If United cannot find a buyer they risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Former Leicester star Maguire is working his way back to full fitness after missing out on a place in England’s Euro 2024 squad due to injury.

Gor-ing no where

Newcastle are ready to hand Anthony Gordon a lucrative new contract to fend off interest from the Premier League big-guns.

Gordon was one of the Magpies’ stand-out players last season, scoring 11 goals and contributing a further 12 assists.

While Liverpool has expressed interest in the England international, Newcastle are now eager to retain their key players, especially since the Premier League PSR deadline has already passed.

Gordon, with two years left on his current contract, stands to receive a substantial pay increase from his current salary of approximately £60,000 per week if he agrees to an extension.

Duran Duran

West Ham have added Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran to their list of summer striker targets.

Villa are open to offers for Duran as he is not seen as a major part of manager Unai Emery’s plans for the new season.

Chelsea have been pursuing the Columbian international since the January transfer window.

But despite reigniting their interest, the Blues have still not managed to seal his signature.

That could allow West Ham to swoop, with new manager Julen Lopetegui keen to add more firepower to his attack.

Duran has scored eight goals in approaching 50 games for Villa.

Lars-ting Larsen

Wolves’ signing of 6ft 4inch Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen will not stay temporary for long.

Larsen has moved to Molineux from Celta Vigo on an initial loan deal with the option of a permanent £25million transfer.

However, talkSPORT understands Larsen, 24, has already agreed a five-year contract and that the option becomes an obligation after only a handful of appearances.

It is a similar arrangement to when Wolves took Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid and were obliged to pay £43million after he played just three games.

These deals are designed to help balance Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Larsen’s arrival also appears to have ended Wolves’ interest in Scotland striker Che Adams.
