A Qantas flight, designated QF1972, bound for Canberra, was compelled to make an emergency return to Adelaide shortly after takeoff, requesting priority for landing due to technical difficulties.
The aircraft touched down without incident and taxied safely back to its gate.
“This morning, one of our flights from Adelaide to Canberra experienced a technical issue shortly after departure,” a Qantas spokesperson explained. “As a precaution, the flight returned to Adelaide.”
Once safely on the ground, engineers began inspecting the aircraft to identify and resolve the problem. In the meantime, all passengers were accommodated on alternative flights to ensure they reached their destination.
“Our pilots are expertly trained to manage such situations, and they followed all necessary procedures to ensure a safe landing,” the spokesperson added.
Passengers disembarked and were rescheduled to board a new flight to Canberra, which is set to depart at 8:30 a.m. ACDT.
