Thierry Henry made young Arsenal academy players go crazy on Tuesday after appearing amongst them at the Emirates for the Champions League clash against Porto.

The Frenchman is a Gunners legend and even has a statue erected outside the Emirates in his honour, but youth stars got the chance to meet the icon first-hand.

Arsenal ended their 14-year wait to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals as they overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit and inflicted an agonising defeat on Portuguese opponents, Porto.

The 46-year-old was covering the match for American broadcaster CBS and was mobbed by the Arsenal youth stars on his way into the stadium.

A shocked crowd of junior team players shrieked in amazement and cut awe-struck figures as Henry interacted and high-fived each of them while proceeding up a set of stairs.

Amongst the audible gasps, one of the kids began shouting: ‘The best Arsenal player ever. You’re my favourite Arsenal player.’

Henry appeared delighted with the interaction and smiled along while stopping to interact with his newfound fans as they followed him through the inner workings of the Emirates.

The heart-warming moment has since gone viral on social media with Arsenal supporters sharing their delight at seeing the club icon spare time for upcoming players.

One Gunners fan posting on X, stated: ‘The kid that shouts “Best Arsenal Player ever!” has been raised very well.’

Another hilariously added: ‘I sit here, aging through my 30’s, incredibly jealous of these young kids.’

A third similarly agreed, saying: ‘That’s how you know Henry juice never runs out, these kids were probably born after he retired.’

The legendary striker scored 228 goals in 337 appearances for the north London club, winning two Premier League and three FA Cup titles.
