Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has dismissed reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.

The 26-year-old has been on United’s radar for several years but a move to Old Trafford has never materialised.

Reports in Italy this week have claimed that United are stepping up their efforts to replace Paul Pogba, who could leave the club at the end of the season on a free transfer when his contract expires, and Milinkovic-Savic is willing to make the switch to the Premier League.

It’s also claimed that the Serbia international has been involved in a bust-up with Lazio’s head coach Maurizio Sarri over his conduct in training and at a recent Christmas dinner involving the rest of the squad.

But Milinkovic-Savic has moved to play down reports linking him with a move away from the Serie A club.

The midfielder wrote on Instagram: ‘I see lot of rumours about me but… I don’t care! I just want Lazio to win.’

Sarri has also denied reports of a rift with the midfielder.

‘I only had one fight with Luis Alberto, four months ago,’ said Sarri.

‘I read one of the biggest fake news, that I had a fight with Milinkovic-Savic. I don’t think so.’
