According to Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Glenn Sullivan, two rescue boats recommenced their search operations at 8 AM this morning.

“The Marine Rescue NSW teams are conducting searches as directed by the Marine Area Command,” he stated.

Inspector Sullivan also noted earlier that “a north-easterly wind is beginning to pick up, which will make conditions challenging for our crews, but they will persist in their search until further notice.”

Authorities were initially contacted when personal items were discovered on the rocks at Bushrangers Bay around 7:40 PM on Monday.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 34-year-old man had last been seen fishing on the rock ledge at approximately 2 PM.

A search commenced shortly after, until about 11.30pm, when it was suspended to resume the following day.

The search continued yesterday morning, with assistance from the NSW Police Marine Area Command, NSW Police divers, Marine Rescue NSW, Surf Life Savers, Lifesaver helicopter and State Emergency Service.

It was later concluded at about 3.15pm due to poor weather conditions.

NSW Police Marine Area Command and Surf Life Saving will continue patrols over the following days.
