Billie Eilish to release 3D concert movie co-directed by James Cameron

The celebrated artist Billie Eilish is set to bring her “Hit Me Soft and Hard” tour to cinema screens with an exciting new 3D concert documentary. This announcement comes on the heels of her final tour performance in San Francisco, marking the end of a memorable series of shows.

In a thrilling move for fans, Eilish will be collaborating with the legendary director James Cameron, known for his work on “Avatar,” to co-direct the film. This remarkable partnership promises a cinematic experience that captures the essence of her tour. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on March 20, 2026, just in time for spring.

Announcing the project on Instagram, Eilish expressed her excitement: “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR (LIVE IN 3D) coming to theatres on march 20th 2026 !!!! 🥳🥳🥳,” she shared with her followers. “This has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr and being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. can’t wait for you all to see it :’)🎥⭐️🤭💙.”

Paramount Pictures will be responsible for the film’s release, ensuring it reaches audiences worldwide. James Cameron also took to Instagram to share his enthusiasm, stating that it was “an honor and a blast to co-direct the 3D movie of the amazing show @billieeilish has been performing all over the world.”

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Cameron’s latest installment in the “Avatar” franchise, which is eagerly anticipated for a December 19 release. As fans eagerly await both cinematic events, the collaboration between Eilish and Cameron promises to deliver a unique and unforgettable experience.

Cameron also announced the movie on his Instagram, saying it was “an honor and a blast to co-direct the 3D movie of the amazing show @billieeilish has been performing all over the world.” The announcement comes on the heels of Cameron’s latest installment in the “Avatar” franchise, which is set for a Dec. 19 release.

Eilish previously released concert specials and documentaries, including “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry” and “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.” 

According to Variety, Eilish had announced a “very, very special” something during her Manchester concert that required her to wear the same outfit for multiple dates. 

“Basically, I can’t say much about it but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron and it’s going to be in 3D. So, take that as you will and these four shows here in Manchester, you and me are part of a thing that I am making with him,” she told the crowd, per Variety. “He’s in this audience somewhere, just saying. So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row.”
