Boy George showed off his new slimline look as he attended the opening of John Proctor Is The Villain, which was held at the Booth Theatre in Midtown Manhattan on Monday.

The British singer, 63, whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd, admitted he’s been using type 2 diabetes medication following a tummy tuck surgery several years ago ‘to get rid of excess skin’ after losing 100 pounds.

To maintain his weight loss, he began taking Ozempic in 2022 following the procedure, but later switched to Mounjaro.

For his latest outing, he showed off his slimmed down figure in a brown leather jacket layered over a black sweatshirt with a small red heart.

The Love Is Love hitmaker finished off his look with a smoky eye look and a swipe of pink lip-gloss.

Boy George appeared in high spirits as he posed up a storm for the camera on the red carpet before entering the show.

He was joined at the Crucible-inspired play by Wilson Cruz, Sarah Pidgeon, Maya Hawke and Christian Lee Hutson.

The play, which was written by Kimberly Belflower, officially opened at Broadway’s Booth Theatre on April 14 after beginning previews began on March 20.

Directed by Tony winner Danya Taymor (The Outsiders), the show is currently set to continue through to July 6.

It comes after Boy George shared in his new book, titled Karma: My Autobiography, that he underwent cosmetic surgery for weight loss ‘not long after’ he had three hair transplants from 2015 to 2018.

In the autobiography, which was published on January 9, the ‘Karma Chameleon’ singer revealed that he uses weight loss drug Mounjaro to help regulate appetite and blood sugar levels.

Mounjaro uses the active ingredient tirzepatide, which targets GLP-1 and the hormone glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP).

Mounjaro is only FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes.

‘I have struggled with my weight most of my life and being under public and media scrutiny doesn’t help,’ George wrote, according to excerpts obtained by People. ‘We are all guilty of saying, ‘Hasn’t so and so got big,’ even when we are carrying extra pounds ourselves.’

‘I love food and I can’t control my appetite, but I think I have finally got it under control,’ he continued. ‘Well, I’m on Mounjaro. Isn’t everyone? Trust me, anyone who was fat last year and is now skinny is on the wonder drug.’

Boy George’s latest outing comes after he admitted that despite his efforts to be different, he has become the ‘gay version’ of his father, Jeremiah.

The Culture Club star revealed he tried everything to avoid becoming like his father but ended up being the most like him in the family.

Speaking on the Turning Points podcast in February, he told singer and pal Lulu: ‘I did everything I could not to be like my dad but turned out that I was the most like him of anyone – the gay version of my dad.

‘I went out of my way not to be like him, and I guess I soaked it up because you can’t not.’

The iconic singer revealed that growing up, there was a lack of love in his household, with his parents showing tolerance but little respect for each other.

He explained that he often longed for the things his parents didn’t have, noting there wasn’t much love in his family home, though there was a sense of tolerance between his parents.

The pop star added: ‘I wanted all the things that my parents didn’t have… there wasn’t much love… there was a tolerance… my parents did love each other no question, they just didn’t respect each other.

‘So I grew up thinking that was normal – that screaming and shouting was what you did in a relationship and that constituted love.’
