Some food cravings may serve as warning signs that something serious is happening in your body, such as the onset of cancer. People have reported unusual food cravings occurring months before being diagnosed with the disease. According to some doctors, the body may send subtle signals prior to a formal diagnosis, a point highlighted in a popular Instagram video.

In the video, user @astraworld2025 claims: “Many doctors are convinced: the body sends SIGNALS long before any diagnosis.”

Studies have shown links between food cravings and cancer types such as ovarian cancer and breast cancer, reports GB News.

A review from 2022 analyzed seven studies on this subject and found that food cravings have been linked to breast cancer, lymphoma, as well as ovarian and endometrial cancer.

A healthcare expert featured in the viral video noted: “In patients with gastrointestinal tumors, a strong craving for sweets often emerges months before the diagnosis.”

“People eat ice cream by the kilo, even though they never cared for desserts before.”

According to the experts, cravings can vary greatly depending on the individual.

For instance, one woman who was later found to have kidney cancer developed an unusual need to drink pickle brine straight from the jars, sometimes pairing it with crackers.

Another individual developed a sudden obsession with dairy products, which her family initially thought was simply a passing interest or a change in dietary preferences.

Each type of cancer can have different symptoms but there are some general symptoms which you can keep an eye out for.
