Chrissie paid an emotional farewell to her Nova breakfast radio program on Friday after her Chrissie, Sam & Browny was cancelled.
She shared a series of sweet photos with her co-hosts Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown and colleagues to her Instagram – but avoided breaking her sobriety when the bottles were popped.
Chrissie has completely transformed her health over the last two years, quitting alcohol and shedding a reported 90kg.
She previously revealed she gave up alcohol because it ‘wasn’t serving her’.
Speaking on The Project in October last year, she said she was relying on alcohol to deal with the stress of Covid lockdowns.
‘It was a decision I made for myself after giving it a fair nudge in the first lockdown last year,’ she said at the time.
‘I haven’t had a drink in about nine months.
‘I do recommend it. If you’re thinking, “oh, maybe I’m drinking a bit much” or “it’s not helping me any more”, I think that’s the biggest thing I’ve taken from it, is that it didn’t help.
‘With the pressures and anxieties and worries and being responsible for kids and their whole life has changed and you’re their parent, you feel enormous guilt, though it’s all out of your control, you kind of feel like having a few drinks will take the edge off – and a couple of drinks does, but eventually it’s at the stage where it doesn’t help and it certainly wasn’t helping me.’
She said her anxiety was ‘through the roof’ and she couldn’t get a good night’s sleep.
‘I really noticed a huge difference in my day-to-day positivity and ability to deal with the pandemic and the ongoing changes to literally every part of our lives if I’m clear-minded, and for me it’s been fantastic, a fantastic choice,’ she added.
She briefly touched on her weight loss in an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly in March, saying the ‘enormous’ lifestyle changes she’d made over the last year had improved her life in so many ways.
‘I’m not going to talk about the size of my a**e. I’m not going to tell you what I eat in a day. Because I’ve read those stories and they make me feel bad about myself,’ she said.

However, she did confirm Melbourne’s lengthy Covid lockdown was the catalyst for her health and fitness kick.
‘We couldn’t go out to dinner, we couldn’t go to a friend’s house, they couldn’t come to us, we couldn’t go outside five kilometres. All we could do was walk, and so that’s what I did,’ she said.
Chrissie began walking only short distances, but steadily increased her fitness and now walks for two hours per day.
Before giving up booze, Chrissy said her anxiety was ‘through the roof’ and she couldn’t get a good night’s sleep
