Christina Applegate has bravely spoken about her tough battle with multiple sclerosis, describing it as ‘living in hell’.

The 52-year-old Emmy winner opened up on Good Morning America to Robin Roberts, saying: “I’m not out a lot, so this is a little difficult, just for my system. But of course, the support is wonderful and I’m really grateful.”

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who starred in The Sopranos, joined Christina on the show. Jamie-Lynn, 42, has been dealing with MS since she was 20.

Roberts brought up the touching moment at the 2024 Emmy Awards when Applegate walked on stage with a cane and received a huge standing ovation. Christina couldn’t remember much about it, admitting: “I kind of actually blacked out and people said, ‘Oh you were so funny’ and I was like, ‘I don’t even know what I said.'”.

Applegate also shared: “I don’t know what I was doing. I got so freaked out that I didn’t even know what was happening anymore. I felt really beloved, and it was a beautiful thing.”

Since being diagnosed with MS in 2021, Christina has faced many challenges. MS makes everything harder because it affects the brain and nerves.

Christina has been open about her daily struggles, often saying “it’s never a good day.”

Christina Applegate revealed in May 2023 to Vanity Fair that she will no longer be appearing on TV due to her health issues.

She said: “I’m probably not going to work on-camera again, but I’m so glad that I went out with someone [Linda Cardellini] who is by far the greatest actress I’ve ever worked with in my entire life, if not the greatest human I’ve ever known.”

Christina also added: “I can do voiceover stuff because I have to support my family and keep my brain working.”
