An alarming incident unfolded in New Iberia, Louisiana, on Saturday when a car careened into a crowd attending a cultural parade, leaving nearly two dozen people injured, as reported by authorities and local media.


The chaotic scene at the Laos New Year’s Parade resulted in over 20 individuals sustaining injuries, with several in critical condition. The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office and News15 reported that at least two of the injured were transported to a hospital via airlift, as confirmed by Acadian Ambulance services.
Authorities swiftly apprehended the driver responsible for the shocking event, which occurred near the intersection of Savannakhet Street and Melancon Road. According to News15, there is a possibility that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that the crash appeared to be unintentional, ruling out any deliberate motive.
