Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, celebrated for his remarkable transformation after shedding 12 stone, has unveiled a straightforward three-ingredient recipe he relishes at home. Known for recently reopening the esteemed pub The Chalk Freehouse in Chelsea, Kerridge disclosed his preferred dish on Joe Marler’s Things People Do podcast, according to GloucestershireLive.
While Kerridge does whip up meals at home, he admits it doesn’t mirror the finesse of his professional kitchen exploits. He opts for simplicity, with one particular dish standing out as a favorite. He explained: “I turn the oven on and stuff. I won’t resort to the microwave just by pressing go, but I do prepare meals. Yeah, I will cook stuff.”
He elaborated: “I’m content cooking, but it could be something like a baked potato with baked beans and grated cheese on top. We’re quite content with straightforward meals, but yes… I do cook at home.”
Additionally, Kerridge revealed to Joe that he insists on being the household cook, a responsibility his wife gladly delegates. He shared: “When I’m home, I’ll cook. I can’t sit idle watching someone else do it.
“I find it simpler to handle it myself, as it gets done quickly and efficiently. But that’s the only thing I’m faster and better at home. Nothing else, just that bit.
“After 24 years of marriage, it’s reached a stage where she’s just like, ‘yeah, you handle the cooking, and I’ll manage the rest.’ She’s more than happy to leave the cooking to me.”
Tom has previously revealed the secret behind his remarkable 12 stone weight loss journey. Kerridge has been adhering to the “dopamine diet”, which focuses on foods that enhance dopamine levels.
He’s also particularly fond of the humble baked potato, as demonstrated by his latest addition to the menu at his Buckinghamshire establishment, The Coach in Marlow. Tom unveiled an opulent take on the beloved dish, dubbed Baked Potato “Raclette” with Sauce Reform, costing £19.50.
Rather than the conventional baked bean variety, this lavish potato comes stuffed and garnished with ham and cheese. Tom enthusiastically displayed the dish on Instagram, dubbing it a work of art.
The video footage shows how the potato received a light torching for added theatrical effect.
The post’s caption states: “Have you tried @thecoachmarlow’s famous Baked Potato? This month’s features Raclette with Sauce Reform, and let me tell you, it is a work of art.”
Nevertheless, not all were convinced by the hefty price point.
One user, @tomcat2183, said: “£19.50 for that you are taking the p*** mate,” whilst @chriskelly58 stated: “For £20 it should be … fancy spud u like.”
