Authorities in Florida are intensifying their search efforts for a missing teenager from Oconee County, South Carolina, and her 4-month-old daughter.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has reported that 15-year-old Jazmynn Sakkinen and her infant were last seen on Friday night. They were at a home on Yellow Belle Road near Walhalla around 11 p.m., as reported by WYFF4.

The family of the teenager has since reported her disappearance, prompting concern from law enforcement.

While officials have confirmed that Jazmynn left voluntarily, there is heightened concern due to her young age and the baby’s medical requirement for a specialized formula.

“We discovered on Saturday that the infant requires a special type of formula. Because of these circumstances, our missing persons unit considers them to be at risk,” explained Jimmy Watt, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, during an interview with the news outlet.

Watt further noted that although there is no active search underway at the moment, this is due to the absence of any identifiable vehicle, license plate, or known direction in which they might be traveling.

“So, at what point in time, if you’re going to use a bunch of personnel and resources, at what point do you start the search?” he asked.

Jazmynn may have been in black ripped jeans, a beige shirt with flowers, purple Nikes, and wearing a heart necklace when she disappeared, FOX Carolina reports.

She’s described as standing 5 feet, 5 inches and weighing around 164 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
