Danielle Louise, a beauty expert from the Fresha app, explains that alcohol significantly disrupts hydration, inflammation hormones, and gut health—factors that all directly affect skin condition. She notes that those who choose a sober start to the year can expect noticeable improvements in their skin.
“Many are amazed at how swiftly their skin improves once they stop drinking,” Louise points out. “Alcohol influences everything from oil production to the breakdown of collagen, so abstaining allows the skin to rejuvenate.”
Louise highlights five specific skin improvements that occur with alcohol cessation, beginning with a change in complexion.
