Football supporters have mocked Man City’s players for the outfits they arrived in ahead of their game against Swiss side Young Boys.

The Treble winners are in Bern for the Champions League clash, hoping to keep up their 100 per cent record after wins against RB Leipzig and Red Star Belgrade in their opening two group games.

However, as they turned up at the Wankdorf Stadium and got off the team bus, City’s stars appeared to be wearing bespoke cardigans and baggy jeans.

And several supporters couldn’t quite believe what they had seen, while TNT Sport pundits Joe Cole and Joleon Lescott also mocked the outfit.

Cole joked: ‘(It’s) Unacceptable, to be honest. I’m not being funny right, the gaffer got out first and he looks like the milk tray man – he looks brilliant.

‘He looks round and I don’t care how many Trebles you win guys, you got to sort the gear out. It’s horrendous.’

Lescott added: ‘When it doesn’t look good on Jack Grealish, then I’m like, “yeah, there’s a problem”.’

Meanwhile, on social media, one supporter said: ‘Look at the absolute state of these lad’s turning up to a game,’ before another quipped: ‘Those Man City cardigans, whoever thought that was a good idea should be sacked.’

Another added: ‘Man City players turning up in gimpy cardigans and 80’s prison jeans.’

Further supporters also piled in on Pep Guardiola’s side as another said: ‘Just seen pictures of the Man City players getting off the coach. What are they wearing? Nice denim.’

Another fan insisted they were scarred by seeing the controversial design as they simply outlined: ‘Do not search #MCFC cardigans. You can’t unsee them.’
