One Day At A Time actress Valerie Bertinelli shared this weekend on TikTok that she has lost 10lbs so far this year.
The 62-year-old beauty was thrilled that she will now have to go down one size in her blue jeans.
The weight loss is due to her participating in Dry January, which is when booze is cut out.
And the Hot In Cleveland star – who said recently she is doing her best after divorcing Tom Vitale – also shared that the weight loss is just one of the great ‘side effects’ of her alcohol-free plan.
The Food Network star said: ‘So, here’s a nice little side effect of Dry January. These jeans that I’m wearing were so tight a few months ago that I couldn’t comfortably button them. Now, they’re so loose it’s time for me to go down a size.’

It has been a bumpy ride: The stunner covered up her figure here in April 2022 as she worked through her painful divorce from Tom Vitale
‘Yeah, I like that side effect,’ said Bertinelli who appeared thrilled with it all.
A fan asked if she feels better. ‘I may also do dry July,’ said Valerie.
The star famously lost 50lbs in 2009 and posed in a green bikini for the cover of People magazine to display her progress. But over the years the weight creeped back on as she went through a painful divorce and saw her ex-husband Eddie Van Halen die.
When she announced in January she was cutting out booze, she said she liked it so far. ‘I’m doing it for two reasons. One, I want to try and cut down the cravings for my sugar. And I think alcohol exacerbates that,’ said the TV vet.
And she hoped to be healthier overall. ‘I want to calm down the cortisol in my body that has been raging for the last five, six years. I’ve been in fight, flight, freeze, fawn mode. And I want to go into rest and digest,’ she said. ‘I think cutting alcohol will help me do that.’
And she made it sound like a good challenge.

This comes after she told fans she is doing better after divorcing Vitale.
Along with going to therapy and practicing mindfulness, she also revealed she’s been participating in rolfing, which is a form of therapy that aims to alleviate both muscular and psychological tension through deep manipulation of the body’s connective tissues, according to Medical News Today.

‘It’s so painful, but there’s a release that happens that’s really helpful,’ Bertinelli said of the physical therapy.
‘I believe that a lot of emotional pain is stored in the body, and I’m doing my best to heal from it in every way — my therapy, my journaling, my meditation, rolfing.’
Typically, rolfing takes place over a series of ten sessions, each of which have different areas of focus.
Wanting to be as open and honest with her followers, she insisted that she’s moved past the divorce drama and knows other can relate to the experience.
‘You’ve been through the same bullcrap that I have,’ she explained, adding, ‘I am over it. I’m over the narcissist. I’m long over the narcissist.’

While continuing on with her journey, her focus is figuring out what made her want to ‘tolerate the intolerable.’
Bertinelli was first married to legendary Van Halen guitarist Van Halen in 1981, but it would end up in divorce in 2007, but not before they welcomed a son, Wolfgang Van Halen, now 31.
Finding romance again, the television star got engaged to financial planner Vitale.
But in November 2021, Bertinelli ended up filing for legal separation from Vitale, citing irreconcilable differences.

Bertinelli claims one of her fans or followers ‘DM’ed me that question that helped you in your healing … that question just was a lightbulb. What made me tolerate the intolerable? So, by searching for that — by healing that — I have just put a better life forward for myself. I’m more joyful. I’m more happy. A life that I already have that I’m grateful for, but a life that I can truly enjoy. Because then I finally feel like I deserve it,’ she gushed with obvious pride.
‘We all deserve to have a beautiful life. And it starts here, within. And I want you all to feel that for yourselves ’cause we all deserve it,’ she added.
She revealed she feels like she now has moved on from the s**ty part’, and now ‘going into the really hard, hard part that has the most benefits to it.’
