During a Women’s History Month event at the White House on Thursday, President Donald Trump lauded First Lady Melania Trump, likening her to a “movie star” in honor of her recent documentary success.

The First Lady began the gathering by reflecting on her personal journey, urging women to embrace risks and exhibit bravery.

“As a visionary, I understand that success isn’t achieved overnight. It’s the result of a lengthy, sometimes arduous process. Often standing alone at the peak, I follow my passions, trust my instincts, and maintain unwavering focus. In solitude, my creative mind flourishes, filling with originality,” Melania expressed.

She continued, “This open-minded approach has allowed me to venture into diverse fields: fashion, digital assets, publishing, accessories, skincare, commercial television, and of course, filmmaking,” before introducing President Trump.

Moved by her remarks, Trump quickly expressed admiration for Melania, calling her a “movie star” due to her documentary, titled “Melania.”

“Thank you very much, a movie star, can you believe it?” Trump enthused.

‘I think it was number one last night. Streaming last night, was number one,’ Trump said of the documentary. Melania was the 7th most-watched movie on Amazon Prime as of Thursday afternoon, according to FlixPatrol, a streaming and movie tracker.

‘I don’t know, maybe she’s getting a little too big for the White House,’ Trump riffed with a smile.

The President also commented on the attack on a Jewish synagogue in Michigan earlier on Thursday.

‘I want to send our love to the Michigan Jewish community and all of the people in the Detroit area following the attack on the Jewish synagogue,’ Trump said.

‘I’ve been briefed, fully briefed, and it’s a terrible thing, but it goes on. We’re going to be right down to the bottom of it. It’s absolutely incredible that things like this happen.’

The shooter who drove a truck carrying explosives into a Michigan synagogue with an attached preschool has been killed, officials say. The truck caught fire after ‘something ignited’ when the gunman smashed into the Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township on Thursday.

A man armed with a rifle was found dead inside the vehicle, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said. Law enforcement sources said his body is ‘badly burned’ but provided no further details.

Emergency responders also found a ‘large amount of explosives’ in the back of the vehicle, a law enforcement source told CNN.

Trump also delivered an update on the war in Iran.

‘The situation with Iran is moving along very rapidly,’ he said. ‘It’s doing very well.’

‘Our military is unsurpassed,’ the President continued. ‘There’s never been anything like it. Nobody has ever seen anything like it, and we’re doing what has to be done — should have been done during a 47-year period, could have been done by a lot of different people.’

The president spoke about how he has worked to advance IVF treatments for women and protect women’s sports.

A number of women from across the country spoke at the event, driving home the importance of women in family life but also in professional spaces.

One individual celebrated was US Olympic bobsled medalist Kaillie Humphries, who grew emotional when talking about her personal journey with IVF and raising a family despite aspirations for another podium appearance at this year’s Winter Olympics in Cortina, Italy.

After her rousing remarks, Humphries bestowed the President with a gift that can only be given by Olympians – the Order of Ikkos medal.

‘Every Olympic medalist in the United States gets an Order of Ikkos that they get to hand to somebody in honor and recognition of somebody who’s made a meaningful contribution to their journey to the podium, because Olympic medals are never achieved alone,’ the Olympian shared.

‘I’m so honored to present this, my Order of Ikkos medal, to you, Donald Trump,’ she said as the crowd applauded.
