A woman who lost 270 pounds has lifted the lid on the realities of dealing with loose skin after she underwent four surgeries to get rid of the the saggy flaps throughout her body. 

Laura Flusche, 37, has been documenting her weight-loss journey online ever since undergoing bariatric surgery in 2021. 

The Oklahoma-based content creator has shared her transformation on Instagram after she detailed how she had struggled with her weight since she was a kid and had to made the decision to take back control in 2021. 

After undergoing her fourth surgery to remove excess skin, Laura revealed she was in an extreme amount of ‘pain’ and her body was swollen, but she was looking forward to being through with surgeries.

After undergoing her fourth surgery to remove excess skin, Laura revealed she was in an extreme amount of ‘pain’ and her body was swollen

She detailed her post-op experience in an Instagram post. 

Laura shared a video of herself before going into surgery and following the procedure.

She captioned the Instagram video: ‘Round four of skin removal – complete! Day two post-op!

‘The first night was really rough. I experienced a lot of pain. I am like a mummy at this point. Arms wrapped, thighs wrapped and tummy in a binder.

‘Once we got the pain figured out, it’s been SO much better! The arm and hand swelling is pretty uncomfortable, but to be expected!  

‘I get to shower today and see the first look. I am SO excited.

‘As always, thank you for the messages, comments, prayers, etc. I feel them SO big! So thankful I have you all in this little corner of the internet. Love you BIG!’

She headed into the hospital while donning a pair of leggings and an oversized sweatshirt. 

Following the surgery, she showcased her bandaged body as she laid on the hospital bed.

Following the surgery, she shared a video of herself 11 days post-op and revealed that she was so happy with the results, as she showed off her scars and noted that her doctor ‘did a great job at hiding them.’ 

Laura has previously opened up about how she felt when she piled on the pounds and after she underwent surgery.

Bariatric surgery is a variety of procedures designed to help a patient lose weight.

Surgeries include reducing the size of the stomach with a gastric band, or removing part of the stomach through a gastric sleeve.

It also includes gastric bypass surgery, in which surgeons reroute the intestine to a small stomach pouch, which shrinks the stomach.

In one clip, she said that she had lost herself and was no longer happy. 

‘I lost myself. I wasn’t myself. I was unhappy. Depressed. Irritable,’ she revealed.

In the past, she told Fox that she didn’t even want to leave her house prior to dropping pounds

Then, the video cut to her after her weight loss as she shared how her body and her feelings transformed after dropping pounds. 

She said: ‘I’ve lost 259lbs and I’m the happiest I have ever been, also the healthiest. Life on this side is so much better. Happy. Healthy. No limitations due to my weight.’ 

In the past, she told Fox News that she didn’t even want to leave her house prior to dropping pounds. 

She told the outlet: ‘Two years ago I didn’t even want to go out of my house. I was just so ashamed of how far I had let myself go.’ 

In December 2021, Laura underwent surgery and noted that it affected her mental health. 

Laura told the outlet: ‘Physically it’s not bad, it’s a really easy surgery, it’s the mental part of the surgery. I was addicted to food, I was addicted to foods I shouldn’t be eating all the time.

‘I’ve gotten that comment, “just put the fork down and have self control.” If only it was that easy. Weight loss is so much deeper sometimes than just eating less and moving your body sometimes.

Laura is still recovering from her fourth and final surgery, and she has shared that she’s happier than ever

‘People just need extra help and it comes down to genetics and hormones and so many other things that people don’t really understand.’

She explained that she started sharing her journey on social media so her friends and family could follow her weight-loss transformation. 

However, she soon gained more than 500,000 followers. But her social media career had its downside. 

She told the outlet: ‘But the bigger I grow, the more the comments come and people are opinionated about everything, as you know, so I just have to look away. 

‘It’s hard. I would say I get less hate in messaging than like commenting on posts, Facebook is the worst.’ 

Laura is still recovering from her fourth and final surgery, and she has shared that she’s happier than ever.
