In Anaheim, California, Earth Month is in full swing, and Disney has partnered with National Geographic to offer families a unique opportunity to celebrate our planet. This month-long event focuses on captivating storytelling and engaging experiences that highlight the beauty of Earth.

As part of the celebration, audiences can look forward to the global premieres of National Geographic’s “Secrets of the Bees” and Disneynature’s “Orangutan.” Additionally, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund, and themed programming will be available across Disney’s broadcast and streaming platforms.

The collaboration between Disneyland Resort and National Geographic will also bring a variety of special activities to guests, enhancing their Earth Month experience through interactive events.

Recently, during the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, On The Red Carpet had the opportunity to speak with National Geographic Explorer Dr. Sammy Ramsey. He was present to host a special weekend activation dedicated to “Secrets of the Bees.”

Dr. Ramsey shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Being here at the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is absolutely incredible. The integration of foods pollinated by bees, such as pistachios and various nuts, is seamlessly incorporated into the festival’s offerings, creating an amazing culinary experience.”

Dr. Ramsey’s insights are featured in “Secrets of the Bees,” a special created by executive producer James Cameron. This installment adds a fascinating new chapter to the Emmy-winning “Secrets of” series, promising an enlightening and entertaining exploration of the vital role bees play in our ecosystem.

“The entire ‘Secrets of’ series, you’ll notice that we chose animals that people feel like they already know a lot about already. They’re all recognizable. The elephants, the whales, the penguins, the octopus, the bees. But then we take that opportunity to show you a whole new world, see what I did there? Very Disney. A whole new world in those organisms. All of the incredible things they do that you can easily miss, and then we remind you how important it is to care for and steward those organisms. There is no better time to remind of you of this than Earth Month, when we all need to have this on our minds,” he explains.

Across Disneyland Resort hotels, guests will encounter a National Geographic-themed experiential pop-up, complete with an iconic Nat Geo Yellow Border photo opportunity, lawn games and more.

In Disney California Adventure, celebrate the series with the “Secrets of the Bees” photo-op at the Brownstones in Hollywood Land. Then, for guests 21+, check out the Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo Food & Wine Booth for the National Geographic Hot Honey White Sangria.

Guests visiting Disneyland Resort may also receive the April issue of National Geographic magazine, offering another way to engage with the wonder of the natural world throughout Earth Month.

The Food & Wine Festival will continue until April 27, so guests still have time to explore all of the fun food options.

“Secrets of the Bees” is streaming now on Disney+ and Hulu.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of National Geographic, Disney+, Hulu, Disney Parks and this ABC station.
