I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! crew members are reportedly refusing to work in certain areas of Gwrych Castle at night.
According to reports, staff working at the supposed haunted location, claim to have witnessed ‘shadowy figures’ and ‘horrifying noises’.
The spooky goings-on is apparently causing a stir with staff, with some not wanting to go in the castle at all.
‘People thought they saw a figure at one of the windows a couple of nights ago — and that spot has been pretty much off-limits ever since,’ a source began.
Another insider claims the castle is ‘utterly terrifying’ at night.
‘Several of the crew are completely horror-stricken and don’t want to go up to the castle,’ they said to The Sun.
‘There are lots of lights on the main sets but there are also many dark areas behind the scenes and some noises are extremely spooky.’
No wonder the crew is nervous about going into the castle because rumour has it, it’s haunted by ghosts.
The alleged ghost is former resident Winifred, Countess of Dundonald, who died back in 1924, and was one of the last occupants of the castle.
Doomed to an unhappy marriage, the Countess lived there alone, with her husband in Scotland, and after she died he bought the property himself when King George refused to accept it.
A duty manager of the castle grounds also claimed on the castle’s website that they had a paranormal experience in 2018, and said: ‘Terrified, I heard the chain on the main gates rattle slightly and then the footsteps began to advance towards me.
‘It was pitch black on the Main Terrace, and I was waiting for the electrician to finish in another part of the castle so I could lock up. The footsteps grew closer and closer… and then came to a dead stop about a foot in front of me.’
