Manchester United will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend when they face Burnley, with the game scheduled to take place at an unusual time of 8pm.

Erik ten Hag’s side come into the game off the back of a narrow 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The Red Devils were also beaten in their last league outing – losing 3-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion.

United have endured a miserable start to the new season and currently sit 13th in the table – with just two wins from their opening five matches of the new campaign.

Mail Sport breaks down why Burnley’s clash with Manchester United will kick-off at 8pm on Saturday.

Why is Burnley vs Manchester United at 8pm on Saturday?

The Premier League fixtures were announced back in July – with Burnley’s clash with Manchester United pencilled in for Saturday, September 23.

Vincent Kompany’s side will play the Red Devils at an unusual time of 8pm on this weekend.

In previous years, there have been three Saturday slots for matches to take place: 12.30pm, 3pm and 5.30pm – with TNT occupying the early slot.

However, the league agreed last season that clubs playing on a Wednesday at 8pm can’t play in the 12.30pm Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

Saturday’s clash between United and Burnley will be shown live on TNT Sports.
