Jadon Sancho makes transfer decision between Chelsea and Manchester United

Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho favours a move to Manchester United over Chelsea because he believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can rebuild the Red Devils with his focus on young players.

The Blues have been battling United for the winger’s signature, with Frank Lampard keen to make a statement signing after being prevented from making additions last summer due to a transfer ban.

Chelsea will hand Lampard significant funds and the Blues had looked at financing a deal given Pedro and Willian are both set to leave.

But Sancho believes his future would be better served at the Theatre of Dreams, where Solskjaer has cleared out the deadwood and promoted a number of youngsters in the last 12 months.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ander Herrera, Alexis Sanchez, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini have been jettisoned since Solskjaer took over, while Brandon Williams, Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have thrived.

Solskjaer has put a focus on young British talent and Sancho believes United represent a better fit for his future, given there is a ready-made spot on the right wing waiting for him, according to the Mirror.

Liverpool had also shown an interest but they see little reason in smashing their transfer record when they already boast the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in wide areas.

United had been confident of signing Sancho last summer before a collapse in the final stages of the season saw their Champions League qualification hopes end.

But the club believe Solskjaer is rebooting the Red Devils and they’re willing to offer Sancho the no.7 shirt at Old Trafford.
