Fern Britton, a familiar face to many from her long tenure on “This Morning,” has openly discussed her lifelong battle with weight fluctuations, having experienced sizes ranging from a 22 to a 12. However, since stepping back from the limelight and embracing a more tranquil lifestyle in Cornwall, she has regained control over her health.

At 68, the beloved TV presenter has been channeling her energy into fitness, and she recently revealed the trio of strategies that have helped her shed an impressive five stone. Last year, she candidly addressed speculation surrounding her weight loss journey, particularly rumors suggesting the use of Ozempic.

In an interview with Woman & Home magazine, Fern dispelled these assumptions, affirming, “People often wonder when you’ve lost lots of weight whether you’ve done it naturally. And I can look at you and say, ‘Yes, I have.'” Her dedication to health and well-being is truly inspiring, showcasing her commitment to personal transformation through natural means.

Last Year Fern shared insight into her journey amid rumours of Ozempic usage.

She told Woman&Home magazine: ‘People often wonder when you’ve lost lots of weight whether you’ve done it naturally.

‘And I can look at you and say, “Yes, I have.”‘

After a shoulder surgery a couple of years ago Fern reflected on her journey and decided to get back on track with her health.

‘I thought, “I need to get my life back on track. I need to stop smoking, stop drinking, get eating under control and stop lying in bed feeling sorry for myself.”‘

Fern embarked on the Couch to 5K programme, which is an NHS app that helps people get into running.

Back in September, Fern updated her fans on her running journey and revealed she had managed to run 6.5K.

She told her social media followers: ‘I just did 40 minutes of actual running, with a five-minute warm-up walk, and then a five-minute cool-down walk at the end.

‘So, 50 minutes all together but 40 minutes running. I covered 6.5K, I can’t believe it – it’s a bit good!’

Fern is also no stranger to strength building, having shared a number of selfies at her home set-up.

In April, the presenter was all smiles as she snapped a selfie after lifting a number of different weights, from dumbbells to a bar with weights placed on either end.

The star looked amazing in a pink long sleeved top and a pair of fitted black cycling shorts as she showcased her weight loss.

In a previous interview with Hello, Fern stated that she was looking to gain strength after she contracted sepsis in 2016 following a hysterectomy.

She told the publication: ‘My legs and arms are much stronger; my tummy is much stronger after four children and everything else my body’s been through.

‘I was really close to dying, and yet you can still get up and go out and run and be strong again.’

Alongside running, cycling, walking and lifting weights, Fern has also changed her diet by cutting out 80% of her sugar intake.

She told Woman&Home: ‘I started to think about what I was eating, which I had never done before.’

She explained that ‘eating three sensible meals a day’ is crucial if you’re spending time cycling in Italy as you’re going to need decent fuel.

Five years ago, the presenter moved permanently into her Cornish holiday home before renovating it ‘bit by bit’.

A Cornish Legacy, which is Fern’s 11th novel, took the star two years to write – twice longer than normal.

Fern has long enjoyed storytelling, releasing her first novel New Beginnings in 2011, two years after leaving This Morning.

But since Covid she has been prolific in her writing, penning Daughters Of Cornwall in 2020, The Good Servant two years later and A Cornish Legacy in May 2025.
