She is the younger sister of professional actress and comedian Kate McKinnon.

In 2011, Emily wrote, edited and directed her own short comedy film, entitled “Pudding Face”, featuring her sister Kate McKinnon, Tiffani-Amber DiGrazia, and Jake Millgard. Besides that, she made her debut film appearance when she landed the role of Theresa in the short comedy film “Five To Places” (2014), directed by Zack Morrison.

In the following year, she came to prominence with her appearances alongside her sister Kate in the six-episode web series “Notary Publix”. Most recently, it was announced that Emily and Kate will appear in the fantasy comedy series “Heads Will Roll” (2019), so her net worth is certainly rising.
