We knew that Kingdom’s final episode was likely to be heart-pounding. But nothing prepared us for the South Korean horror thriller’s Season 2 finale are. And that’s without even taking into account Season 2’s mystery woman. Spoilers forward for Kingdom Season 2.

Kingdom’s next season revolved around the promise of Crown Prince Lee Chang (Ju Ji-hoon) facing off against the zombie horde. Over the past two seasons, he discovered what causes and the way to defeat it. And in”Episode 6″ he finally goes into full undead takedown mode.

Right off Prince Chang understands by using force, he and his men can not conquer hundreds of zombies at the palace gates. They must think smarter, maybe. That is how his guys and Prince Chang come to lead the zombies. Just when it seems all of our heroes have been bitten and like all hope was lost, Prince Chang slams one of the contaminated to the ice hockey, plunging all the undead and alive into the water.

As we heard earlier this year, it is not that the Resurrection Flower that causes people to turn into cannibals that are thoughtless. It’s the worms that live inside of these. And those worms die in the cold. Due to the risky strategy, Prince Chang and his guys can save the civilians of South Korea and escape with their lives.

But they aren’t the only ones who need to face a zombie threat within this finale. In the last episode, we discovered that Queen Consort Cho (Kim Hye-jun) was the person who spearheaded unleashing this infectious disease. In a final act of trying to reclaim any possession to her throne, she allows herself to be eaten living with her son. Bear in mind, this son is a part of the royal household.

Following the Queen gave birth to a baby girl she swapped her daughter using Moo Young’s son, knowing that just a royal born heir would have a claim to the throne. So the Queen unleashed a flesh-eating disorder in her own country and sacrificed an innocent infant all to appeal to her own ego.

That the Queen ca finish her reign properly. At the last minute, doctor and professional awesome human Seo Bi (Bae Doona) catches the infant. She douses his infected snacks in water, seemingly saving him.

Prince Chang finds Seo Bi along with the youngster, and he’s faced with a decision. He can either kill the child and take his place or allow them to live. Instead, a third option is chosen by Prince Chang: he kills himself. Chang’s death occurs in the title as he asks his kingdom’s elders to compose in the history books that the queen, his father, and also he died in the war. When these elders increase the newborn son to become the country’s ruler, Chang flees his kingdom to learn more about the Resurrection Flowers.
