Neighbor Jose Lopez mentioned that he often felt the need to check on the kids after allegedly hearing them say they were hungry. “There were times I did hear the kids screaming or saying that they were hungry or thirsty,” Lopez told ABC7.

He also added that when he saw it, it didn’t seem as if they were being taken care of properly.

“They didn’t really look like they were getting fed properly or being properly addressed. Because there were times where I’ve seen them leaving back to the Bronx and only the 6-year-old had a jacket,” Lopez explained.
