In the early hours of February 4, law enforcement in Massachusetts took Enel Janvier, 47, into custody on allegations of stabbing another man during a dispute over a parking spot post-snowstorm, according to a statement from the Boston Police Department.

Upon their arrival at the scene in Dorchester, officers discovered three individuals on the sidewalk. Two of them—a man and a woman—were suffering from severe hand injuries, with blood visible on the pavement, walkway, and surrounding snow piles.

The third individual present was Enel Janvier, who was promptly detained by the police. The injured parties were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Investigations revealed, with the aid of a translator due to language differences, that the altercation was sparked by a disagreement over a recently cleared parking spot.

Mojilo Thelot, identified by NBC Boston as the male victim, confronted Janvier after noticing that he had parked in a space Thelot claimed to have shoveled out himself, leading to the violent exchange.

According to the police statement, “During the confrontation, Janvier is accused of stabbing the male victim in the hand with a knife. The female victim suffered a hand injury while trying to intervene and take the weapon away.”

Thelot told the station in Spanish, via a translator, that Janvier had refused to move his car at his request.

An argument broke out and Janvier’s wife allegedly gave him a knife, according to the station which obtained court documents, an item he used to stab Thelot’s hand. At one point, Thelot’s sister tried to stop the fighting.

Meanwhile, Thelot’s wife also received a stab wound, reported the station.

NBC Boston spoke to a resident who claimed that all the parties live together.

The station also interviewed Janvier, who told the outlet that he did not stab anyone.

Janvier will appear in Dorchester District Court, per the police press release. He faces a charge of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
