Mohamed Salah has been gifted a special shirt in recognition of his milestone achievement of 200 goals for Liverpool.

The 31-year-old became only the fifth player in the club’s history to reach the mark with the equalising goal for the Reds in Saturday’s comeback win against Crystal Palace.

Salah was pictured with the other members of Liverpool’s first team squad at the AXA Training Ground on Tuesday, holding a loft a jersey with the No 200 on the back.

‘We’ve carried that shirt already for two weeks with us, now finally we could give it to him,’ Klopp said. ‘It was pretty much the best moment to score it, to be 100 percent honest.

‘Incredible number for a super special, super-super special player. I don’t know how often he saved us with a goal he scored in the right moment.’

The Egyptian’s feat comes just over six years after moving to Anfield from Roma for £34million having previously played for the likes of Fiorentina, Chelsea and Basel.

Salah’s strike at Selhurst Park also saw him climb into the top ten of the Premier League’s all-time goalscorers list, level on 150 goals with former Liverpool striker Michael Owen.

The forward reached his double ton in 327 games and he’ll probably need another 327 to catch the Reds’ all-time top scorer Ian Rush.

IT’S ALL KICKING OFF!

It’s All Kicking Off is an exciting new podcast from Mail Sport that promises a different take on Premier League football.

The Welshman notched 346 goals across two spells for the Anfield club in 660 appearances. Roger Hunt, whose single-season record Salah came within four goals of breaking in his debut campaign, is next on the list with 285.

In the summer, Salah was the subject of a mammoth bid from the Saudi Pro League that are likely to reappear next year but should he decide to stick around, a place in the top three is certainly within his grasp.

Gordon Hodgson currently occupies that position with 241 goals, just ahead of Billy Liddell with 228.
